Thumbs up for Hip Hop. A step in the right direction for sure. Sometimes you have to go down before you go up and with hip hop, we had to make sure we went back to the classics before we could advance further. He has an old school flow with new age lyrics and patterns. Combine it with a good ear musically and being educated enough to say some real ish - it can def be powerful.

Before i wasn't a fan of that attitude because i assumed that people who only wanted money from being in the music biz don' really care about music. But that's not necessarily true. 2pac said "All I want is money, fuck the fame, i'm a simple man." But you can tell he cared about music. He practically lived in the studio. But he knew that fame wasn't all was cracked up to be.

@theinvinciblecracka well, that's not what I was implying. I was simply saying that I would enjoy the benefit of money that comes from hard work. All respect to people like you that do it for the love of it, cause I DO too. But reguardless, it's a career so if I decide that that's my profession, then I'm gonna get paid as part of it being able to feed my family. I have plenty of reasons that I wanna make it to the top, and of course I don't expect anything to be 'handed down.'

Money over fame, yes. Money over everything, no. Even J. Cole himself said it. "Rather make a mil' and nobody know what my name is." Which is what I agreed with. I'm sure J. is tryna get his mother out the slums of Fayetteville, and tell his life story just as well as anyone else. I love his music.
