I buy steel tines from Kalimba Magic. I've also had good luck with what's called electrical fishing wire -- you find that in hardware stores, NOT in sporting goods! Lol.

did you use just standard guitar pick-ups? I was thinking of making an instrument using springs and guitar pick-ups. just wondering if it would work right.
I like the thicker bass pitches on this model. Do you have an eBow? The sounds at 3:30 make me think it would work really well with it. And get those pedals going already!
