@sexysmokinboy It's referred to the impossible shot because the contact points form less than 90 degrees to the pocket. Depending on how adept you are at applying inside english, you can exaggerate the shot even more than shown here. It missed the ball on the way into the nose of the cushion and clips the ball coming out so quick that it doesn't look like it happens that way.

There's actually another way to do this shot which is a lot easier.

Aim at the top of the whiteball to give it forwards spin, and aim directly at the center of the ball. Then go slightly right. (the more right you will go, the more the 13 ball will move away from the pocket. You can do this from different angles too. If the angle is more than 10 degrees, add left/right spin as well.

This is a very bad lesson. This shot is a lot easier than that. You dont have to put any fancy spin on the ball. All you have to do is hit the ball and the rail with the cueball both at the same time. Knowing this, this shot is very easy.

Sweet! I'm just learning how to play, and am slowly learning how to use english and spin. I've tried this shot numerous times at a friends table with varying results (usually a near miss). But I went down to the local pool hall and made one of these but from the long end of the table. A couple of other players there saw me lining it up, and were impressed when it went in. I think they were fooled into thinking I know what I'm doing.

This is a good tip. Some know this shot well but most don't. I have showed this shot to many who asked how I did it. It IS a DIFFICULT shot for most players. At least the ones I tried to show it to and they were all experienced players.

This shot isn't difficult at all, at least from my understanding. I used it in a game when I was 13 and I had a broken wrist. The shot was made by me on the 8 ball and it won me the game. Note my comment may or may not be accurate since when I was 13 and my wrist broken I was constantly complimented on my ability to play pool.

Hey PPH. I watched this video a few days ago and took note because this type of angle has eluded me. Well it came up in a match over the weekend in nearly the same position and I was able to pocket my final ball with it as opposed to playing a safety which gets you no friends at the hall. @MRCALIfornyay Just put the table back together...new felt, problem solved. Simonis 860 again.....this time I put it on....can't always trust those installers. Got the table to within an 1/8 inch roll at the worst. WAAAAAAY within WPA and BCA standards. I have one more leveling session before it is fully ready for play. The problem with the old felt...I was not home when it was put on and it was overstretched. Put new lighting too, 4 lights instead of 3 and daylight bulbs for color.
