  • Talented guy, like his father, a brilliant guitarist.

  • He's got his dad's skill in playing guitar, that's for sure,Franks style was raw and gutsy,Dweezil has that feel also.

  • Imagine what Frank would do if he had the tools we have today. That guy went nuts with the synclavier, if he had all the modern stuff he would have done 100 times more than he put out.

  • dweezils playing is some kind of weirdly fucked up yet awesome blend between his fathers melodic sense and evh's technique.

  • he talks like his pop.. I can see a lot of Frank in him.

  • Holy Fuck he isnt using a guitar pick....

  • I was raised on Zappa tunes.... I love this man.

  • meh and meh

  • so this is what happens when you grow up with a famous guitar dad with amazing guitarists [assing thru the studio all day? bloody hell!

  • How can you play through guitar rig with no latency?? I have a good firewire interface, but I always have some latency. I would love to use guitar rig in a live setting rather than lugging amps everywhere!

  • What was the song he was playing at the start!

  • Yeah... he's on dope...YouTube search: uncletomable

  • dweezil is awesome

  • what is the name of the first song Dweezil plays?

  • I will drink his bath water!!!! Rock on oh great Zappa father!!

  • oh man,,,.....what a load of bollox

  • he is very good looking

  • He looks like Ted Bundy. Deweezil, how thin is your prefrontal cortex?

  • that was fucking useless

  • i might just copy that sound..

  • I FUCKEN LOVE IT WHERE DO I GET ONE OF THESE PEDELS AND HOW MUCH??? REALLY PLEASE HIT ME BACK HAVE SEVERAL MUSICAL FRIENDS THAT WOULD DRF BE INTERESTED!!!! THANKS FOR POSTING!!! AND FRANK WOULD BE PROUD!!!

  • @tatmom43 its not a "pedal' its the software >> download guitar rig 3 or 4 on the net. the "pedal" is actually a controller, that u get when u buy the software, so juste use the mouse it will be ok :) , or u can use a midi interface to switch on/off effetcts in real time :) there is also Amplitude, a good software also : the cabinet emulators are good, and if u use this software; " Riffworks" : drum machine, effects; recording sequencer and it can load guitar rig/amplitude as a plug in :)

  • the reverb fails terribly if you put on headphones

  • @Diosukekun you do realize this video is compressed down to 240p.... any one watching this video and trying to criticize the sound should think first.. smh 240p sounds horrid and the upper of this video should be ashamed to even use such a low quality for an audio demo lol..

    p.s. GR sounds fantastic ;)

  • @jenbug302 Do you realize this video is from 2007? Youtube did not have HD leave alone full-HD as an upload option back then.

  • I have that guitar :D

  • phrasing of his part at 4:20 is amazing. for those that hate the tone, well no shit its guitar rig. he endorses it because technically its an amazing tool to shape sounds with, you can try anything easily and cheaply. nobody should actually use it for, or expect it to have, perfect creamy tone.

  • cool. Love ya Dweezil !!

  • The overall sound/ambience of his little VH demo was good but the TONE he dialed up was terrible.

  • Dweezil is a morph between his dad and Joaquin Phoenix!

  • HOLD UP NOW!!!

WHY IS IT THAT THIS DWEEZIL GUY AND CHRISTOPHER MOLTISANTI ARE NEVER IN THE SAME ROOM TOGETHER????

WHY?? WHO IS WHO AND WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?.

  • Dweezil and Frank are awesome but Native Instruments support just plain sucks. If they got their act together, they'd be a great company with a great product.

  • theres no warmth or body to your tone bro, go tubes or go home.

  • @SensiRootsBoy did you just tell Dweezil Zappa he had shitty tone? somebody is fool of themselves

  • @drewandre ya i did, jsut cause he has a name he has great tone ? stop fooling your self

  • what you hear next to the amp and what a live audience hears, or what a listener hears from a record, are three different things. I mean, who likes the sound of their own drums while they play them? they are so loud, how can you tell? anyway, that "van halen" sound is missing that slow phazer effect. I love the sound of that backing track though. therefore, it must be from the 70's.

  • o this nigga thinks he's slick

  • This sounds like an SG with too much reverb. All digital processing sucks, but an Axe-Fx into a tube power amp and out a 4x12 sounds godly.

  • @tkdman45 theres no such thing as too much reverb.

  • @musicforchewfaygs unless it's shitty reverb like this. :)

  • ... the feel of it (not that you could tell the difference without comparison, when mixed with the band).

  • @andersforfang You're exactly right. But the cool thing about this is that you don't need an isolated place and hearing protection in addition to a set of a few Carvin Legacies - in order to sound like the italian virtuoso. You can put your headphones on and travel to another planet. It's great fun to explore sounds that my Blues Junior can't produce, but for the sounds the BJ is capable of, I prefer the real thing.

The fun factor is great, yet it still is no substitute for a great amp, the fe

  • I should have never waisted my money on a one hundred dollar amp back when I got my guitar 2 years ago. This program makes amplifiers useless.

  • @hockeyhatesgooglnow thats not true at all, nothing beats the tone of a legit tube amp

  • @andersforfang I thought Revolver III beat the tone of the amp I was using before I found out about it. But the other programs aren't nearly as good with distortion.

  • Make website where we can download those godly tones. ^_^

  • i would getting crazzy if i always would playing my dads music but i know for shure that frank is very proud of Dweezil;-)

  • what's that song at the very end?

  • @alsharpton666 It is "inca roads" on "one size fits all"

  • Frank and Dweezil are totally different animals!

Frank made it up, Dweezil regurgitates......

  • Comment removed

  • @gnowave ... with ref to my comment on Dweezil regurgitating....search out

the son of a famous musician who didn't just copy dad.

    Kofi Baker, son of Ginger.

  • @harpdoodle - dweezil does do his own thing,, I quite enjoyed his Z band with ahmet. That said, more importantly I feel this goes beyond any comparison nonsense. Dweezil, has dedicated many of his last several years touring and playing his fathers music in memory of his father, and more importantly, to keep the MUSIC alive, to have it heard by as many new listeners as possible. Its a CELEBRATION of the MUSIC and of Frank. To simply say he regurgitates sounds ignorant.

  • how u record songs with guitar rig 4?

  • @tangypasta Record in audacity(beta) and then add the GR4 effect on the track you recorded.

  • Rusty Venture?

  • @a7x8594

    Owned by Bertirama.

  • @FlavoredDeath

    Bertorama*

  • Strictly commercial?

  • awesome vh riff

  • he played with julian lennon too,its great to have a dad tied into the buisness,

  • @a7x8594

It's funny you should mentioned Eddie Van Halen, because he was Dweezil's guitar teacher. They also remain friends to this day.

  • @a7x8594 Why don't you shut the fuck up if dont know what you're fucking talking about? You can't even compare EVH to Dweezil. Dweezil is simply playing his fathers music. EVH was and still is the one that many tried to emulate yet fail. He came up with the shit that all the 80's guitarist's copied.

  • @vtwin1 He almost smirks when he says 'Eruption' as if to say 'yeah I can play it in my sleep but I'll do it for this demo'. Van Halen better than Zappa? (either of them) LOL. Even van Halen wouldn't say that.

  • Wow... He and Lisa Loeb were married? Good looking couple.

  • Excellent.

  • nice brian moore guitar in the background i got one its fucking sick

  • Dweezil shouldn't have to stand under the shadow of his dad. A major talent in his own right. Hope he continues to take his talent and music as far as it lets him.

  • how much is it??

  • He's a nice guy but his playing sucks. Very average and only famous because of his father god rest his soul. Want to see some real guitarists check out Vai, Satriani, Van Halen & Malmsteen

  • @DaimDibs thats average guitar playing? srsly? sure hes not famous for any original stuff but who cares? he plays franks music almost as good as frank himself, and i for one am glad hes keeping it alive.

anybody watching this video knows who those other guitarists are already...

  • @DaimDibs Right.. If his talent doesn't mirror those guys' he SUCKS? Little extreme don't you think? I'll take feeling over technicality any day. 'Cause the music is what it's about.

  • @DaimDibs This isn't the best demonstration of his abilities. He's a brilliant player

  • Hes so great and inspirational

  • shut up'n play yer guitar

  • eruption? really? No wonder his "career" went nowhere.

  • to be son of god is never easy...he is actually a very good guitarist, aniway

  • not like frank zappa

  • Having tried Guitar Rig, I think it sucks.

  • #1) Diesel can really play guitar good.

#2) Sorry, but I hear an SG with too much reverb. "Angus plays eruption."

  • @Joggione Its more a short delay more than a reverb

  • Im really sorry if this is a total nob of a question but what is the difference between this software and others like it and a modeling amp?

  • @vainparasite Good question...I have a 100 Watt Peavey Vyper and it works well to do similar things...and boy can Dweezil play!! Have a nice day!

  • Frank has a good kid xD

  • that is really fascinating stuff, but it will kinda spoil guitar playng and experimentin with your own tones and stuff. i mean this is a brilliant breakthrough but it will spoil the excitement of exploring your own guitars boundaries

  • @Zeppelinguy666 erm why would it? ... its the same as any physical amplifier that has digital hardware there is no reason you cant push the boundries of your guitars tone, infact guitar rig has a ton of stuff you can use that would cost you THOUSANDS to get as hardware. Trust me Ive been using it for months now and its 2nd only to my all valve amp

  • @GamingLeeLee i do think it is really really cool and stuff, but it kinda gives you these tones on a plate, i find it more fun experimenting and finding the tones for your self. but i do thikn its amazing

  • @Zeppelinguy666 well it does if you want it to I suppose since if you want a quick sound you can just pick one of the presets but for tone shaping you can actually craft your own tone easily, this isnt just a collection of pre made tones its emulation of real amps and effects and you can craft a unique sound with it just as you could a real amp if you dont use the pre-sets it doesnt do anything for you

Do you even use this program or are you just assuming based on the fact that its software

  • @Zeppelinguy666 basically if you dont I recommend getting a hardware interface for your guitar and downloading the trial, I had the same ideas about you did till I actually used it and its just as good as any amp (assuming you have a decent pair of hi/fi speakers of course)

  • @GamingLeeLee ah i see, i thought it was just presets. i had a fender g-dec amp which i found so frustrating becuase that was just presets. but i will give it a go, thanks!

  • Does this have a harmonizer effect or is this program mainly amp modeling.

  • @mullen2105 yessiree-bob, it has a beautiful Pitch-Shifter/Harmonizer...it's got every stompbox that produces legit FX, it models many of the Electro-Harmonix gear (delay, small stone chorus/phase), it now has incredible rack delays, multi-tap delays, compressors, and reverbs, it's not just stompboxes, it's the rack quality gear that makes your guitar sound like platinum !! and the amps will blow your mind as he just dosplayed...they added the HiWatt head/cab n GR4, there's a dead on Comfy Numb!

  • fuck my boots!! heard of Dweezil, never actually heard him play though...watched the beggining of the vid, thought...this guy is actually just an ok player, and reminds me of my playing, then he just breaks out into Eruption, what a legend!!!

  • of course dweezil now supports the much better axe-fx

  • Pick tapping, just like Frank

  • guitar rig sounds lovely

  • @RaerY1959 Yeah right.. only if you got a good sound card.. mine sounds total bullshit.. alot feedback and "hiss" sound

  • THE NEXT EDDIE VAN HALEN LOL

  • Dweezil is a great musician & person. His musical accomplishments are remarkable!

  • His father would not approve of the digital crap.

  • @cosmogang

I think his father would have made about 60 more records if he had some of the tools that are available today. I think that he would have enjoyed the control, efficiency, and "cheapness" of the new possibilities and if anybody could give these new gadgets a proper test drive it would have been him... I wouldn't be so sure that he would scoff at it once he realized how it could aid him in realizing his vision. "I may be totally wrong but but I'm a...."

  • @diskopunk1 You might be right! :)

  • @cosmogang That is where you are wrong... Frank Zappa was always on the cutting edge as far as components and instrument and amp circuitry went. Frank would have eaten all of this shit up and created even wilder music than he already had.

  • @WarmothGuitarist Maybe, maybe not. I guess you might be right!

  • @cosmogang I only suspect that Frank would have loved this digital stuff. He was not what one would call a traditionalist guitar player/musician/composer. The guitars he had were always wired in weird configurations. He had holes drilled in many beautiful guitars in the name of installing mini toggle switches, which tells me he was more about the sounds than he actually was about the instrument itsself. He was a guitar player that was looking for non traditional tones. Just my thoughts...

  • @WarmothGuitarist I think you're absolutely right-like installing barcus berry pickups in the neck.

  • @WarmothGuitarist absolutely right.

  • Great, GREAT guitarist.

  • dweezil is the man! when is he going to break out, mainstream? i know what you are thinking, but it should be heard!

  • sick tapping

  • i cant get any good sound out of GR

  • I not so sure I'm going to waste my time with toys like this...

Need something under $400 (used okay) for FX, live and recording that's not so damn cheezy sounding.

    Zoom? Line6 M9?

I have better effects from my old SBLive soundcard software.

  • @bucktheusa c'mon... that was Guitar rig 2.... ages ago... try Guitar rig 4 and tell me about it... I thought the same even with version 3.... not useful....but version 4 has changed my mind.... sounds killer!

  • Thanks, now I know guitar rig is crap.

The guitar signal sits on top of the effect.

It's like running two outputs, one clean and one dirty.

The EVH attempt sounded too thin with no bite.

It's supposed to sound hot as fuck with piercing harmonics and that tube distortion fuzz on every note. Eddie got his sound on a Peavy 5150 with everything dimed.

  • @bucktheusa How is that possible?-the amp didn't exist and anyway he wasn't famous enough to have any gear deals until after he recorded the first record.

  • @bucktheusa obviously you don't understand that its programable.

Dweezil likes it that way, sounded cool to me.

    Anger management....

  • @bucktheusa

    stop being such a bitch.

  • Kid, you shouldn't go running your mouth like that.

You could piss off the wrong person and they'll be knocking on your door.

  • That was a great sales talk i want it :)

indeed like father like son , , what a laidback guy he is

  • Cool! I saw Dweezil in July 2009 in Clearwater Florida.....Awesome show and he was kind enough to sign an autograph for me from the stage as he packed up his gear. Great guy............

  • I've tried to make an Eruption preset. It's pretty hard. He did really well!

  • Dear Mr. Dweezil,

Please mail the Inca Roads sound to me :D

Does anyone know if there are any FZ GuitarRig presets out there?

  • jezus

frank is turning in his grave

    horrible clone

  • @sjonnie1969 I was just thinking the same thing before reading your comment. Though Dweezil is a very good guitar player, it is reasonable to say that he would have been better off to have displayed his songs and his personal guitar skills. Mimicking his father's songs and sounds is pretty much taking away the value and integrity that Frank Zappa has contributed to the history of music. I know that sounds harsh...but, Dweezil can and should do his own thang.

  • @thedeeliciousplum

    exactly !

    that's being zappa i'd say

  • things we do for money

  • Yeah. It's called work.

  • @Tauvy in this case we called prostitution

  • @AndreAmeli

only in it for the money

  • Well...an SG uses a PAF-voiced humbucker and EVH's Frankie did too, so it's not a stretch to get a similar sound from Eruption on an SG.

  • got his old man's hair hahaha

  • sayid jarrah!

  • it should be "zappa plays van halen" haha

  • Comment removed

  • @MyAbc1235

I think i'll leave that to FRANK ZAPPA'S SON, you retard.. he knows more about music than you, so your opinion is inreggular.

  • the software seems extraordinary

  • A chip off the 'ole pumpkin!

  • DoctorCalabria - yeah, he's sounding more like Frank the older he gets. Gotta be a good thing...

  • Very Frankish

  • i love guitar rig, i can use guitar rig 4 with my old audigy SE card :D

  • i like the backing track, does it come with backing tracks for me to jam to?

  • @f1sk8mm no i dont think so

  • is he the son of frank zappa?

  • @Leanbb yes.

  • yes, he plays in "zappa plays zappa"

  • @lilcha85 great band

  • Comment removed

  • Like father, like son!

  • Where can I rent a shirt like that

  • @DrBongWater

Rent A Center...Magic Johnson was selling them in the commercials! LOL.

  • @DrBongWater Nice User name! LOL, Was CaptainMcAwesome Taken already?

  • W.W.F.D

  • owns eddie vanhalen by like a million

  • hes very good but Eddie created a lot of great music i disagree

  • unlike zappa though Zappa played into many different genres. Eddie didn't.

  • ya well you can find lots of different stuff at the dollar store and its still isn't worth more than a dollar

  • Inca Roads... the perfect jam track

  • I play this video just for the song in beginning :3

  • Se parece muchisimo al padre, y ha heredado su genialidad musical!

  • ill stick to my boogies, tc eletronics, la2as,lexicon and eventides

  • @Obelisk2290 glad u have the budget for that. what label is paying for that?

  • yours truly 25 years of being an engineer

  • well good for you. Ive been an A1/A2 for the better part of 20 years myself, both in live sound and studios, and dont have the budget for that, which is why Im glad to have my LINE6 stuff. pro sounds, for a fraction the price.

  • whatever works for you buddy keep playing
