@YungReg88 Honestly I dont remember a whole lto about the prices of these things, but I am sure Transformers was the more expensive, especially considering that until the release of the large play sets and these "super" scale figures, Go Bot figures used a much smaller scale than Transformers. They were not intended, however, to be a cheaper version of Transformers by any means.

I think the biggest thing that helped Transformers was that the show was just way WAY better.

Staks was a poor man's Optimus Prime lol! I think the Tonka crew marketed Gobots first beause it knew Hasbro would end up eventually winning.

In that epic struggle between the TFs and GBs, Tonka sacrificed robotic coolness for closeness to the real-life machine. I have Warpath and he resembles an Apache helicopter better than any Matchbox toy. I'm sure the story of Hasbro's eventual victory would be different if Tonka has made their robotic forms just a little cooler.

Ha! At least Gobots had female characters intertwined in the cartoon and once more they weren't the stereotypical females that were defined by greatly exagerated spiked heels and well placed boobs.

In actuality the Gobot females were made to be just as important as their male counterparts. What were Transformers females around for? Just to make their male counterparts look good.

I always loved how in the Go Bots they always pronounced the name "Cy-Kill" all Mike Myers in "So I Married An Axemurder" "EVIEEL" or some kinda shit. Fuck you, you know what I mean.
