This hearing aid is crappy when it comes to listening through headphones like during Xbox gaming or just listening to music at work. Don't even get me started on the cellphone/telephone. It's a joke. Because of this, I don't want to waste another $300.00 for icom. I truly miss the telephone mode on my old hearing aid which drowns out all sound except through phone.
Hi, could you maybe fix the fact you say "let's have a look at the hearing aid" and point to all the buttons and there's a "Let's take a look at the hearing aid" banner right over the hearing aid!! Thx.
Am due to be upgraded to these hearing aids in a few weeks. Thank you for making this review and on the accessories as well. Really very useful. I look forward to recieiving them! :)
What type of cochlear implant do you wear? I tried the Naida about 1 year ago (not sure which version though) and found that my cochlear (Medel Opus) interferred with the remote and iCom settings (I had to turn off my cochlear to use the settings on the remote and the sound didn't transmit through the iCom). Did you experience any issues with that?
Webtekky, thanks for your question. I wear a Cochlear Americas implant device and have had no trouble with using the remote or iCom device. You may want to try again but go to your audiologist with the Phonak devices and have them help you figure out how to make them work together. It may take a few appoitnments but well worth it. Good Luck
Can you tell me more about your hearing loss? My son is 14 months old and he has severe hearing loss in his left ear and severe/profound in his right. I've been wondering how his speech will progress. Your speech is normal, and I was wondering if you were born with the hearing loss, and when you first had you CI implanted. Thanks.
Thanks for your questions. I was born with hearing loss but was not identified until I was 3 almost 4 years old. Had my first ear infection and they found out then. The cause of my hearing loss is due to EVA or LVAS. As a result my loss was progressive. At 6 years old I had a mild -moderate high frequency loss and now in my left ear I have moderate to profound loss (corner audiogram) I received my cochlear implant 3 years ago this month after I loss all my hearing in that ear. Cheers
