Carla, very much enjoyed the video, great technique and I really thought the detial in the painting brought the image to life. Thank you and I'll keep an eye out for your stuff.
Another wonderful painting, Carla! I do believe you are the queen of texture. I enjoy the music as much as I enjoy watching you create. This song was so interesting with the combination of flute and taiko drums with the Asian (Japanese, I think) and Native American voices. Makes a nice match.
Thanks for your comment Deb! So you're not tired of it? I'm serious because sometimes I think my vids are annoying, you know, that people can think 'Yeah Carla, now we know how you do it, so it's enough' :)
Well, in some cases, that is true. But I really enjoy your music and watching you work. What is most annoying to me (personally) are the long-winded dissertations on the art videos.
But wouldn't you know it....other people like that? I have actually started adding dialogue and explanations of my recent art videos. Go figure! And people respond positively. :D
I've to use a translation tool to understand what you mean with "long-winded dissertations" :) Yeah, I do too, but at least you understand it (I think), but for me it's very hard to understand when people talk a lot and fast in English. But that's for me, because English isn't my language. (It would help me a lot when people write some keywords in their instruction vids, or at least don't talk real fast.) Your voice is good to listen for me.
when you start these pieces do you know what it is your going to do with the texture and colours or do you just let it happen go with the flow as they say
I think both. Because I make the texture first most of the times, so there is more or less a 'plan'. But sometimes I think I know what I'm going to make, wich colors I will use etcetere, but that doesn't always give a good result.
The last one I did yesterday is a 'black & red' too, but I started with the idea I should make a triangle in it with aqua colors. But when I did it was really not good at all, horrible! So I used gesso and some more 'grey stuff' and start over.
the putty you use.. (wall hole filler, in canada we call polly filler) are you not afraid it will crack and fall off? how do you make certain it stays on?
No, I'm not afraid it will fall off. It is very light and a kind of flexible. It is not like cement or something like that. May be you can only buy this stuff in The Netherlands?? I don't know, I cannot find information in English about it.
Love this : )

You give me a real big smile " the queen of texture"! :-))
I'm glad you like the music, I love Olivier Shanti (& his friends). That's the kind of music I often listen when I'm painting.
