a fishtale braid is used with 5 pieces of hair instead of 3, break the hair in two sections, on slightly biger than the other, the bigger side you take about a third of it from the outside and move it to the middle,
now the other side will be slightly bigger, do the same on the other side, the bigger side you take a piece of hair, about a third in size, from the outside to the middle. good luck

I was a little confused at first following the directions but then I realized that everything is mirror image. Now all the directions make sense. Great style though, I'll have to try it.

Sorry about this! All you need to remember is to take a small piece of hair from the left side and place it on the right side. Repeat on the opposite side. continue to work one side then the other ,crossing the hair in the middle. work two thirds down the hair and continue to follow the directions. Good luck!

you lost me on "Fish braid the hair." I could do the rest, so how do I fish braid, it looks awesome, and my hair is longer than this.
