  • Some one told me that Chuck was allowed to graduate from Maple Hts. High School (Ohio) ealry so he could paly w/ the Dorsey band. Must be true.

  • So Good and it´s 3% of the population who likes it. It´s a shame.

  • Cada vez que escucho a este virtuoso me provoca llorar de emoción para mi el mejor

  • I rest my case... holy crap!!! No one does music like this anymore

  • gotta love the horn unison at 1:35-1:37

  • Bob Findley on trumpet, not Chuck.

  • Was that the Golden Girls boogie-ing at the end?

  • @dangerousdaveT U so funny but I thought the same thing :)

  • Funky song, although I am not a Jarreau fan at heart!

  • Alex Acuna: Drums

    Tom Kellock : Keys

    Tom Canning: Keys MD

    George Hawkins: Bass

    Jay Graydon: Guitar

    Dr. Len Gibbs: Percussion

Saw these guys at the Universal Amphitheater on this tour. Bulletproof!

  • Year? Al in his prime.

  • Richard Page on backing vocals!!!! wow! Looked soooo different to when he was in Mr Mister....still hot, but kinda....beardey!! lol!

  • GREATEST_ARTIST

  • Thanks for posting!! is that in 1983??

  • This was back in da day on a show called Fridays! I loved this show and I had a cassette recording of this. This is a great day to see this video! FANTASTIC!

  • l'audio è quello che è....dal vivo sempre strepitoso...Al carica esplosiva

  • Alex Acuna on drums. Lenny Castro on congas/percusion. Performing togther. Whhhoa. The first I've ever seen this. I love it.

  • Super cool jazz!!

  • I seriously could watch this until I died, and it would be time well spent. Funky-ass funky funkity funk, not merely funky.

  • only thing missin is a spicy addition of good ole george duke f/rhodes cascades

  • Yeah, as far as I know it's a lick played in 32th notes (over a 16th triplet-feel swing beat) alternating Fm and Eb triads. Very hard to do cleanly on any keybord. I know how to play that slowly, but George Duke is one of the keyboard gods...

  • Thats a badass horn section

  • if this any nt coooool, i do not know if anything is

  • Yes,its Alex Acuna on drums

  • is that Alex Acuna on drums?

  • Yup! Jay Graydon - Guitar, Kimo Cornwell - Keyboard, Richard Page and Steve George - Vocal (Mr. Mister, Pages), Larry Williams - Alto (Seawind), Lenny Castro (Percussion). Anybody recognize anyone else?

  • Chuck Findley on trumpet with Jerry. Most likely Bill Reichenbach on trombone. Maybe Neil Stubenhaus on bass?

  • great memory ,dude, alex acuna on drums, saw all them in 1981 in frejus arena, france, what a sound!

  • Yes

  • This song takes me back to my childhood. I use to love seeing this video and hear Al sing. Al's the man and the drummer is very talented.

  • Horns ruled back in the day. You rarely hear horns like these in todays music.

  • Coke up his nose,24 carat FUNK outh his **ss,great song!!

  • thanks for sharing! great performance, awesome!!!

  • Woaw !!! Thanks for sharing the video. This song is so funky. After all these years, it still sounds so fresh and groovy. Excellent music.

  • I love that groove

  • love your story, sylvia!!

  • Back to the old days...

  • Al is simply awesome...love him!

  • Mystique:

Awesome, indeed. Gotta little story to tell you. One night I was walking, alone, in an unfamiliar area of Malibu. It had just begun to get dark, when I was approached by, yes, Al himself. At first I was frightened, but then, he started crooning in my ear, and I began to melt like chocolate. Then, just as quickly as he appeared, he was gone! I ain't been the same since.....

  • See that would totally mess me up. The closest I ever came to a star was the singer Babyface. I went to school with him and trust me he never acted like a good little baby then. LOL My tormentor..who'd ever thought he'd make the buckaroo's... Al's voice is so relaxing to me. I love his Mornin'...cute song...

  • Thanks for this vid! This era of Jarreau with Jerry Hey horns arrangements and playing were very influential for me as a trumpeter!

  • Good for you - nothing like discovering great musicians to 'teach' you how it's done. Happy blowing..(and horn arranging, if that's your thing)

  • I am 7 years old and I love this song, and most of his songs

  • Awesome. Great. Wonderful. Speechless. Thank you. Great performance. Swinging and funky. :-)

  • One of the absolute best performers of all time!!! Can't get enough...

  • Dude @ 402 looks just like Jeff Foxworthy... you just might be a rednek...

  • Absolutely FABULOUS!

  • al j. is so funkeeeeeeee

  • Does anyone wanna waltzin' in the garden? WHAT A JAM! Al is amazing. A true legend.

  • It is Jay Graydon on guitar. When that "Jarreau" album hit in 1983, many of us wore it out listening to it! Al, the cats, the charts, the production, everything...WOW!

  • Yup. Jay Graydon produced that album and two others - the best Al Jarreau Albums ever in my mind were produced by Jay Graydon!

  • Richard Page and Steve George on vocals. Ever heard of Pages?

  • ohhh yes they where the best backing voc ever on that period, and the best" unknow" group of the late 70's

  • IN THA POCKET ! Thanx Trumpetman2000 for sharing !

    Incredible tight set .

    Wow , what a band !

Sharp horns by Chuck & Seawind-brothers Jerry & Larry Williams .

    Alex Acuna on drums .

And i believe producer Jay Graydon on guitar , among the other top-notch musicians .

  • Of sure Al Jarreau concerts were absolutly the bests I ever assist.

  • is he good or what ???Praise God raultp1

  • Potty... come let's potty y'all...

yes, Jerry Hey is kickin' trumpet ass!

Dayng, isn't Al Jarreau hot and sweaty, wearing that turtleneck sweater? Love Al Jarreau, he's a walking musical instrument!

  • Thanks for posting this. Those are the best at doing that kind of playing, along with Gary Grant and Larry Hall. Alan Rubin and Jim Hynes aren't bad either...
