I think that quite a few posters may have misinterpreted the significance of the guns in relation to the plot.
I don't think they were a commentary on "Americans loving and owning lots of guns" so much as they were a device - a tangible representation of the anatagonist's influence on the main characters world.
The message wasn't about owning guns... it was about the flaws of a rival, corporate driven society and its antagonistic, predatory nature.
Great animation, i'am kind of amaze about the quiality of this. So cool

Detatched from its propaganda roots this is an amazing film that gives some well-deserved criticism of unfettered capitalism.

there's a pretty broad perception across the world that US is gun crazy - dunno if it's accurate but it is a perception

So you're saying every single human and country, Communist and non-Communist, in the world is a money-grubbing, gun-toting lunatic?
I'm not like that, in fact, I dislike making money for the sake of greed.

For a metaphoric commentary on 'american' life this almost seems more like a metaphor for how things ACTUALLY WERE in the soviet union.

This was even more weird than part one. A metaphor of American life? This guy had to be on some serious drugs when he did this.
