How cheeky is that? Not only is the XBOX logo now BLUE - which is freakin' awesome and I'd like to know HOW to do that - but a little Apple symbol pops up below it just before loading the plugin.

It's amazing what a bunch of skilled coders, hackers and testers have managed to make the humble little Xbox console do. I still can't quite believe that it handles decoding of H.264 videos at standard PAL resolution with almost no lag!

I should have said, XBMC running on an XBox will do 720p. It will do 1080p when running on other hardware.

I forget that XBMC is ported to other platforms now.

On original XBOX, XBMC works in 720p too (1080i is a bit sluggish), which is a good thing for watching pictures and the GUI but it doesn't have fast enough CPU for watching most HD videos.

XBMC on Linux and OS X is can play HD videos if you have fast enough CPU(s).

Or if your like me you can use the Nvidia VDPAU linux extension to render the video on the GPU with 1000000x more performance!

yes standard drive has 8-10 gigs. with the auto installers avable today it is easy to get it ready alhough if you have a softmodded xbox it is not as easy as the motherboard will still check for the correct epprom (new bios removes this) as davin said the orignal xbox can take any medai format thrown it. it has better and more file shraing prottocls and genrealy has alot more features than the 360 (for now)

Apple TV, is just a media tv system. All you do is watch media.

the 360 is actually good, I like the way Team BlackBolt actuallys manuliputed all the features of the acctual Xbox 360 and turned it to a XBMC features. For an example XBlive Arcade on 360 is the XboxLive Arcade, however on thee 360 its your emulator. Its sick!

Especially when you use the MC60 Concept Design, that i great for media users.

xTV is really impressive at first look, but later gets plain and borin:/
