  • Nigel Watson

  • who's the guy n the beard

  • He influenced a lot of musicians. One especially being Bob Welch. You can hear Pete Green in So much of his solo work. Bob Weston [r.i.p.], too. He and Danny Kirwan exchanged guitar magic together.

Thanx for this upload. Fantastic !! ~ Any date on this show ??

  • he ist one of the best.. blues man player ever

  • Never heard a guitar spoken so directly to me like his! Fantastic!

  • das ist auch eine alternative version ohne gesang u. wie ich höre ist sie recht geglückt (außer das solo ist klanglich nicht überzeugend). danny kirwan hatte das bessere gitarren/amp-gear dafür

  • Peter couldn't sing the lyric cos it hurt him so bad. Hence the instrumental. Must admire him for even playing it.

  • always liked the words, miss 'em here

  • I am so glad PG survived his drug induced mental problems.

  • thats Hagrid's younger brother on guitar with peter...:DDD

  • WOW! wOW! WOW! WOW!

  • Svaka cast i hvala za ovo!

  • one word-Beautiful!

  • Beautiful played, one of my favorites

  • Two quotes i found interesting about Greeny " He still has it, hes just to humble to let it out" " Peter has the devil in his fingers and the blues in his soul"

  • beautiful

  • Beautiful. moving.

  • he never lost his touch!

  • It's so strange maybe that happend in his head around -70's

  • Peter the Great.....

  • if clapton was god lennon maybe more famous as jesus mr green is for me my gitar hero

  • lovely <3

  • gdmf! awesome...................

  • Could somebody please tell me the name of this DVD?

  • @fingerease Peter Green Splinter Group it is also on some older Lps and cd remastered ill have to look it up or dig out my old one

  • now that was nice

  • sends shivers rite threw me beautiful

  • @dekh76 So Nigel Watson is the bearded, black T shirted guy stage right, my left, on the screen... is that right? What is that guys name if it is isn't Nigel Watson? In fact could you credit/namecheck the whole band?

  • Man of the world

  • That's what great music is---Music that makes You feel like it's talking directly to you or about You---- Its sad that there's not more music like this around anymore...

  • Is this concert relased in BluRay or DVD format?

  • Why Peter doesn't play lead???

  • @Godza1602 ive actualley got this dvd,and having watched it several times i get impression that peter not got much time for the older material he did with fleetwood mac,i.e he wouldnt sing or play lead guitar.he did seem very keen on the stuff he was doing now,the splinter group etc.the guy who plays lead is nigel watson who really persuaded peter to start playing again.not sure what peter doing now,but dont think he still playing which is real shame

  • Ah ole Pete still has his great ear for tone

  • This song is GENIUS

  • Legend is a term over used nowadays, had the pleasure of seeing Pete play in South Shields of all places, wonderful musician .

  • * * * * *

    FANTASTIC !!!

  • a big call, a comparison to Hendrix..but yes I fully agree.only if he wasnt so vunerable to accept a massive drink of liquid LSD someone offered him on their US tour.

spose that vulnerability was what made the soul of his writing and playing what it was. bbKing said 'hes the blackest white blues guitarist hes ever heard'. jewish blues, they sure have alot to be blue about.

  • potpuno se slažem :)

  • This is beautiful.

  • Wish I could see him playing with David Gilmour one day. Those two guys are my all-time favourite guitarists.

  • A genius! A beautiful piece of music. Timeless.

  • awesome, that's all

  • @itsnotinthisbox Think they are getting mixed up with Mick Green from the Pirates who passed a few months back.

Rip Mick Green, not blues but an amazing bar room style of 50s 60s rock n roll simultaneous lead /rhythm stylist.

  • Well said, ApexBozo.

  • @apexbozo ~ You sure got THAT RIGHT, my friend !!!!!!!

  • Absolute genius

  • peters music always sends shivers down my spine he is and always will be mr fleetwood mac please keep on playing

  • okay fuck it, makes me want to either smash my guitar off the wall or bang my head against it, you cant beat style no matter what

  • r i p peter green..

  • 2.39 - Legend!

  • the guitarist needs more delay in the time like peter green used to play it..it sounds fast..

  • Now thats music

  • Even without being a legend of the guitar world, just the stuff he got through in his life is enough for me to be in awe. I recommend checking out the full version of the BBC's "Man of the World" documentary....... if you have not seen it already!!

  • Funny how Peter isn't playing the lead.

Outstanding job by the second stringer

  • absolutely beautiful !! my dads got a relic strat that was once peters .

  • Note who is playing the lead: it isn't Peter Green. Someone is having a joke with us.

Sure he was great, but not any more.

  • Beautiful

  • Wonderful, thanks for posting! In my mind I hear Peter Green's voice ...

  • the instrimental is as moving as it is with the lyrics, now that's a ''feat,STUNNING SONG!

  • Peter you are a true legend, love you, love your music.

  • Hei der PG fans; kan dere legge ut PROMISED LAND, med ham, takk

    ed

    w w w eddy nu

  • Its a pity that this music is not made any-more, great Peter, this song it will ever last. I will listen this song as long as my ears are working..

  • BRILLIANT PETE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • narutos man of the world soundtrack sounds much better

  • big nigel watson incredible as well

  • Anybody know who the guy in the brown shirt is?

  • @Barnekkid That is Peter's old friend, Nigel Watson, who once played congas on a US tour for Fleetwood Mac in 1971. Nigel is one of the people who helped Peter come back to the guitar and rediscover his love for music when they began playing old Robert Johnson tunes together. Check out Peter Green's Splinter Group's second CD, The Robert Johnson Songbook, 1998 - it's terrific, IMO.

  • @cicadagodking Thanks-he's a tasteful player.

  • i always press the like button

    although i know its useless

    .such a nice moledy...

  • Brilliant, Brilliant, Brilliant. Tears in the eyes, just beautiful

  • I have no idea why somebody would press dislike on this video. It's bewildering, unexplainable

  • The magic is still there!!! I have most of Peter's music and am constantly amazed at the emotional depth of this man...he was really taken for granted back in the day when he had to take a back seat to Clapton,Beck,Page, and Taylor. I urge you to listen to "Slabo Day" from the 1978 album he did with Snowy White called "In The Skies". Tom Petty lifted the riff for "The Trip To Pirate's Cove"...

  • another beautiful song from Peter Green! Such an inspiration and amazing guy. Love his music!

  • i saw a documentary recently about this man,it was quite a sad story ,i just did"nt realise what great songs he had written.whenever fleetwood mac are mentioned i always thought about their later stuff which i did not like, but what an inspiration he is and has been to people like eric clapton(i stupidly thought Man of the world was his song) .

  • My girlfriend's grandad told me about Mr Green, he's incredible. :O

  • Comment removed

  • hmm. Much Better than hendrix.

He got the Feelin' in the guitar extremly perfect.

  • thumbs if you think the lead guitarist is better than peter!!!

  • @realbeijing Can't remember the guys name but there has always been some chat about him either being the saviour of Peter Green or a bit of bully. I have no idea what is true but the sad fact is that Peter Green cannot do what he once did! Its a real shame he didn't try and sing that because I think its the combination of vocal and guitar that makes that song so emotional.

  • @BelvueSchools The guys name is nigel watson, and i can vouch for him that he did all that he could to help peter, he's an old family friend and is a really nice guy.

  • this is an awesome sounding recording indeed. Beautiful. Thumbs up.

  • You are right rock&roll, he is not as good as he once was but are any of us, he's the the great Peter Green and this is just hard for me to read any put downs to him. I'm just glad he's still around. Sorry I offended you.

  • Just one word: beautifull !!!!!!

  • i do mis something, off course the lyrics.

nice guitar anyway, but whithout words this song is the half.

    pity

  • ...even if its out of this world its not called man of the moon. 2:52

  • Hats off to you Peter! You are a true man of the world. God bless you. You have given us the most beautiful music ever. I love you.

  • @2lips2u

    Well said!

  • @2lips2u lot

  • @2lips2u pure surf music!!

  • Bravo, what a Beautiful Song!

  • unfortunately a bad LSD trip robbed the world of one of the most talented guitarist it ever produced

  • the man himself pity he was /is still ill

  • Hypnotic

  • one of my heros from back in the day thank you peter

  • what a beautiful song

  • Such a shame that Peter doesn't really play the lead guitar lines any more :(

I'm thankful that the other guy (his friend, can't remember the name) has managed to get Peter out of his self exile, now I would like to see him trying to get Peter to start playing like his old self. I think that part of him is using Peter to fulfil his own dreams, though maybe not knowingly.

  • @comradet0m

    That will never happen unfortunately.

PG is one messed up dude. the splinter group was what held him together but he shit on it.

    Dam.

  • Such a sad song, excellent version.

  • if only fleetwood, mcvie, nicks, and buckingham were as intelligent and conscietious as pete, the world would'nt have had to endure the coke driven drivel that followed his departure. This man is a genius, more than utterable in the same breath as hendrix. play on, pete!

  • @ApexBozo Couldn't have put it better!!!!!!!!

  • yep, stevie nicks ruined fleetwood mac, thats why in my mind its always peter greens fleet wood mac, "fuck stevie nicks"

  • @ApexBozo Elitist.

  • @ApexBozo its true - fleetwood mac are hailed after this as being better and bigger than with pete - hpwever as far as I am concerned there is no comparison - they are like totally different bands - and also for me I am sorry but lindsay and nicks were nowhere near as original or sublime as writers etc

  • @ApexBozo you realise that him and Danny Kirwen (who always gets forgotten) both left because of taking some bad stuff in Germany one night? they were never the same since. Don't go knocking the other fleetwood mac members after him though, Lindsey has easily proved himself as a guitar player, especially with his live version of "Big Love".

  • @ApexBozo Totally agree. Fleetwood Mac was Peter Green, not those awful women droners that unfortunately made the name famous

  • whos the other guy? and when was this, couple years ago?

  • @artaylor5615

    That is Nigel Watson

  • absolutny diament - pięknego człowieka

  • "Should I tell you about my life? They say I'm the man of the world..." - from Germany I say to you: rise for Peter Green!!

  • Peter should be caning this guys ass :(

  • beautiful technique

  • dont like seeing Peter like this........Sad what He went through. Great to see him back on stage though performing once again, true one off.

  • I wanna feel what hes feeling at 2:40

  • a god has returned from the darkness

  • love his music! what would we do without his beautiful music? soooo Nice! thanks...

  • Very nice!

  • So very beautiful.

  • @rosesredvioletsblue Thank you for sharing, sweet woman!

    Jerry xo

  • I'm sure that one person just missed the like button by mistake :)

  • Peter Green and big Nigel Watson, what a combo!!!!!!

  • Gods Voice

  • One word...wonderful!!

  • I am so glad and grateful to Mr G for cutting his nails to do this. THE BEST SONG ever written IMO. Don't bother arguing.. we all have our own I know, but this one really does it for me everytime.

  • This song still brings a tear to my eye as it was obviously a cry for help from a troubled soul. Recently saw Peter play and one drunken numpty yelled throughout the set for this song, eventually one of the band asked that he stop as Peter does not play it anymore. Shame as it is such a beautiful song , but obviuosly brings back too many memories. If anyone is interested check out the RensStella audoi only version, its wonderfull

  • I have a feeling the deep loneliness of Peter can be followed through this tune.. So sad about his illness. I am most sure he never said ... love me not!

He should have often been told to hear/feel that he's loved. Great painkiller against depression! Hope he still has those days when he smiles/feel happy. He should think of the thousands of people he gave joy whilst listening to the beautiful sound he brought alive playing his guitar. There's 1 deaf here, gave thumb down, shame on him/her

  • @laggie24 could not have said it better

  • his tone is so amazing!

  • Awsome....!

  • I'm nearly crying. Beautiful.

  • @rhtomic No lo has podido explicar mejor. Mi dios peter el mas grande de todos con diferencia.

  • who is the other guy, man is he good

  • my dad loves this song, and so do I.

  • We Love you Peter Green !!!

  • It is sad to see Peter playing backup. But the lead player does a fantastic job.

  • Wonderful !

  • awesome players

  • Wow!...Great Performance!!!

  • it is danny kirwan,s song

  • @norwayfinland Peter Green wrote this, not Kirwan.

  • who is the other guitar player

  • Sorry rockntroll for your lack of ability to distinguish between the overiding guitar you hear, a trained peter green ear can hear him. There are lots of youtube picks you can listen to that are more telling of the quality of this man's music. Peter Green is, was & always will be one of the best. JMO

  • @dannachanna Sorry dannachanna for your lack of ability to distinguish between a sad attempt to cash in on Peter Green's name. I've listened to Peter Green since the 60s, so do I count? Is that Peter Green you hear? No. Peter Greeen is the back-up to another guy. Not really who he was in the grand scheme of guitar, is it?

  • As it was on the original it was Davis kirwan who played guitar and peter green who sung the song

  • What will happen when these geniuses are no longer with us?

    Poor music

  • What will happen when these geniuses are no longer with us?

    Poor music

  • The man is Brilliant...........Seeing him live on the 30th May.......First saw him back in the late 60s .........Thanks for posting

  • earth to rockandroll63, the overbearinglead is just playing the vocals, NOT the music that made the song so good. Have another listen, who plays the most soulful stuff? Mr.Green

  • @hydegent So, if you hear a horrible tribute Led Zep band, that makes it OK? Sorry, it's cashing in on Peter Green's name. The songs are good, but they are played badly.

  • Yes the walrus is playing this and I saw this band play live about 8 years ago. The Walrus was so up himself that everytime Peter started to play he'd leap in with the crowd getting more and more annoyed. Then mysteriously at the end of the set his amp stopped working and Peter played (Black Magic Woman I think) perfectly the whole way through. I still think to this day that the crew switched the amp off as the Walrus looked very angrey and kept looking off into the wings.

  • Tearsss....What a wonderful song and what a pieceloving wonderful artist...

I am so glad Peter is still in the picture today...back on stage with other wonderful people and artists who love to perform his music!..

  • @Mariekesone correction peace-loving

  • does he say: " Man of the moon - Mr Peter Green"?

    '2:55'

  • Who is the bearded guitarist?

  • @rockandroll63 We know that this is Peter Green :)

  • @rockandroll63 That poor sod wrote the piece and was backing the lead as a favour and as regards to not hearing much of him get your head out of the girly mags numpty.

  • @LOMANDYO What a thoughtful and intelligent response.

  • @rockandroll63 Well mate I am starting to think you are Pete Green wanna be,all you seem to do is run the man down and moan about this and that.

Go and have a good look in the mirror and say to yourself "I AM NOT PETER GREEN" That might help your strange obssesion NUMPTY.

  • @LOMANDYO Another odd and ill-conceived response. What a strange person you are. You don't know me at all, yet you feel qualified to say this and that about me. Are you my mum?

  • @rockandroll63 No I am not your mum but be assurd I would have scelpt your arse long ago laddie xxcc

  • @LOMANDYO I seriously doubt you could "scelpt" (whatever that means) your own bum. But, thank you again for your rapier insight into music.

  • @rockandroll63 Dont be offended mate ,I am only doing what you do and give an oppinion if you dont like it delet it xxcc
