It was just one of those weird gimmicks that didn't work.

I didnt mind the first theme of Cody, BUT i like how they changed him up to being with Ted Dibiase. WWE clearly messed up Vito, why put him in a dress???? i loved his old character as a guy who was Italian and would team with Johnny the Bull. Kerwin White (though many disagree) was actually a pretty good idea and even though he wasnt US title material, i would've enjoyed seeing Kerwin as Crusierweight champion.
