  • What does the announcer say in this open?

  • Why does tmj4 only give the news to the Milwaukee population that corporate public relations firms write for it? I mean, jesus, talk about no journalistic integrity. wtmj is a joke and EVERYONE knows it. Always airing these absoluely stuuupid self-congratulatory commercials about yourselves is ridiculous. It makes you look like fools. Congratulations on tricking the stupid SE Wisconsinites into paying for out-of-state corporate taxation (Miller park). Another example "having our back"?

  • Oh my god, Milwaukee news has to be the worst in the country. They are SO over dramatic and phony. You would think Milwaukee is the World headquarters they way they report the news, so ridiculous. The worst are that Fish guy who does the weather (you are SO not funny) and that Koglin lady(the phoniest of them all).

I wonder if some of these news casters here in Milwaukee realize they live in a third tier city.

  • i've never understood the branding of this station. Why is it "Today's" TMJ? I mean, obviously it wouldn't be yesterday's. or tomorrow's. hahaha. i mean hellerrr.

  • Was this open on the same day you posted it?

  • Yes it was.

  • WGGB in Springfield.....Massachusetts (plenty of them in the U.S.) also has these RenderOn graphics, and it's sad to see a Market 111 station put use these graphics better than a Market 36.

  • WGGB actually uses WTMJ's old lower-third.

  • i love the opening its beautiful with the shiny graphics and stuff.

  • This new introduction is so tabloid in nature. I liked, the conservative yet sophisticated introduction that WTMJ used before this graphics and introduction package. It really makes me angry that stations across the United States are moving towards a more tabloid style in both their graphics presentation and in their reporting.

  • You call this tabloid? Look at WSVN, which really IS tabloid, THEN try to make the comparison. This doesn't even come close. Being fast and flashy doesn't make it tabloid. That said, I DO prefer the old opens. This just looks like a hack job.

  • I have seen the WSVN openings and know that they are MUCH more tabloid than this. Nonetheless, I just hate the "Breaking News" tagline; two of the stations in my market mention the "Breaking News" or "Late Breaking" tagline and all four of the stations with a news department have made such taglines their unofficial motto to abide by; it makes me sick.

  • Can we please go back to the 1990s and do stories about meetings of the public school board, taxes which are being debated, and the decadence of local infrastructure, rather than three opening stories of the murders of individuals who the victim's families may not even want to have identified. To boot, the zoom in (especially given its fast nature) kills any chance for a graceful opening to the newscast and sets the ridiculous tone of urgency for the rest of that newscast.

  • This open sucks - their old openings were so pretty - what happened?

  • the old opens were too long and taking away from time that could be used for more Dirty Dining reports or random banter with their radio partners.

  • *shakes head slowly*

    It's too quick...not as pretty.

  • When did the olympic rings start showing on the newscast? I know they started showing up on NBC New Year's Day.

And it surprises me that broadcasting the olympics it that big of a deal. How much pride does a network like this have just to show Beijing 2008 this summer?

  • They switched to the olympic bug within the last week or so.

  • *tear* WTF???

  • Man they effed this thing up. It used to be so pretty!
