He has a very interesting singing style.. when Sammy Davis Jr. used to clown around and imitate him, I wanted to hear for myself, and he was RIGHT ON.!! Honors to the great Sammy and to Mr. Eckstine :)
Such a huge voice, under perfect control. And it comes from a real gentleman with exquisite taste and style. We won't see any more like him on this earth.
5/23/10. A HAUNTING VOICE WHO CAN MOVE YOUR SPIRITS TO APPRECIATE THE LYRICS OF THIS WONDERFUL MUSIC. REST IN PEACE BILLY. we love you forever. honey 1931
we have followed this beautiful voice from heaven for many, many years and can only say that he can sing the PHONE BOOK, and still convey the lyrics of any love song. REST IN PEACE you beautiful soul. ROSELLI
As a teenager I looked everywhere for a shirt with a Mr. B Collar (like he is wearing in the pic). I finally found one and wore it out. This guy is one of the truly great singers of his (or any other) time.
now i know in 1965 he joined Motown, but what year did he stop recording for Motown. It puzzles me, because i believe he recorded for Mercury, and then Roulette . and who had him after Motown? It's tough for me to nail his discography down. I love the voice though. Still looking for the 1957 stereo I Aplogize from Mercury.
Mr. "B" was great

I love the verse to this and he was one of the few singers who sang it. What a great rendition of the song. Thanks, B, for all you gave us in music.

How greatly missed; the saving grace is having this lovely recording and others. Great music and romance seem somewhat less these days.
