This sounds like a watered down copy of the Santa Esmeralda version. They took the guts and covered them with cheese.

Too bad, the SE instrumental portions kick ass.

@JAIstarkillerkid Actually the SE version sounds a little more watery and softer, this version is crisper with a little more kick. I like the SE version, too, though. I just don't agree that this version is watered down.

@foxxyrocker82 We'll just have to disagree on this. I spent time comparing the two before I made my comment and I find the SE version much fuller and richer sounding with a harder edge, a funkier, thicker drive and a more intricate arrangement.

To me, the SE version "sounds" like it was performed by a real band (true or not) with commitment. This version sounds like it was done by a bunch of studio hacks with a disco fixation who were given an assignment.

I like the powerful sound of the movie version, but it's true it sounds a bit artificial at the same time - like most of it was done on computer. Especially wind instruments sound sadly fake. It wasn't a problem when watching a movie, but listening to the soundtrack afterwards is a bit disappointing.
