i hate to say this but a cockatiel needs a 20x20 cage and dose not need the wood perches that you have in your cage, they are bad for the birds feet,never spray your bird with a spry to keep bugs off them it will cause them to pluck feathers off, and please clean your cage every day if the bird comes in contact with it's wast then they may become sick and die,never use give your bird sandpaper you need a special pedicure perch.
My cockatiel plays with paper. Absolutely has a blast with all kinds of paper. He is aggressive though if he is presented with a paper bag. He will run into the bag, and declare it as his own. I can't go near the bugger when that happens.
It depends on the size of the cage.The bigger a cage is than you can have more toys.Also don't use a nail file' they have perches that are made to naturally file the nails over time.You should never put a cage by a window because of the heat or cold weather can harm you're bird

I'm going to get a cockatiel in May, and was woundering about the best cage size.
I'm currently looking at one 3ft x 4ft x 3ft (L, H, W).
