How does fire on one side of a large high rise cause the entire building to suddenly free fall straight down into its own footprint all nice and neat like? I would believe fire caused it if the building toppled toward the side with the damage. @soundkartel no, im saying that there were internal collapses inside the building, which left the main support to hold up all the weight of the building, and when it went, the whole building failed. and its not just external columns but several internal ones as well. if i am wrong then the main ones failed, leaving all the secondairy ones to hold up the building, and when they started failing, the building was going to be more and more unstable, leading to collapse

Why do you guys keep promoting the long-disproven myth of "free=fall acceleration?" None of the buildings fell at free fall. Free fall for the towers would have been 9 seconds and they took 16 and 22 seconds. Free fall for 7 would have been 6 seconds and it took 13.

4 and 6 didn't collapse probably because they were much smaller. In the physics of structural mechanics size DOES matter, only bigger isn't necessarily better. Ironically bigger buildings fall MORE easily because they have more stored energy but are made out of the same materials. Even so, both 4 and 6 collapsed partially. It's simply the difference between an 8 story building and a 47 story building.
Look at it like this--which collapses more easily? A 3 story house or a 1 story house? The 3 story house collapses more easily because it's bigger, heavier, and taller while being made of the same materials. The same principle applies to skyscrapers.

Straw man. The buildings DID withstand the airplane impacts. What they couldn't withstand was the weight of the upper floors falling down onto the lower floors. That much stored energy being released was WAY beyond their design specifications. And bigger buildings have more stored energy.
A: The planes were uniformly placed in the buildings, they weren't, one barely grazed the building and the other was basically on one side of the building. This means, the buildings would have not fell in the exact same manner, and that potential energy would not project matter outward AND downward and show the pattern of collapse and dust that these buildings had.
B:The fire wasn't hot enough to cause that much stress on the steel.

For those people who say World Trade Center 7 collapsed from debris caused by the collapse of World Trade Center 1... How do you explain how WTC 7 collapsed in on itself? If one side of the building was severely damaged by debris and fire... the building would have toppled over towards WTC 1 and not fallen in on itself.
Even if the building were completely engulfed in flames, it would not have enough heat to affect the integrity of the heavily reinforced support beams.

Those buildings were tremendously strong, designed with an inner and outer core, meant to withstand two airliner hits apiece. Steel skyscrapers don't fall down in one neat pile at freefall speeds unless the underlying structure is taken out first. Thermite, a military explosive, is designed to cut through steel structures; explosions were heard and traces were found at the site.
@thins112 think, the plane impact also caused damage to the structure, and before you say that the planes are made of aluminum and the towers are made of steel, and that the plane would just crumple at impact, then let me say that those planes are TOUGH, they can easily stand up to the outer structure, and the force of the impact could still cause damage

There were plenty of buildings closer to WTC 1 & 2 that got hit by debris, and did not collapse. WTC 7 was much further away than WTC 3, 4, 5, and 6.

Ironically bigger buildings fall MORE easily because they have more stored energy but are made out of the same materials. Even so, both 4 and 6 collapsed partially. It's simply the difference between an 8 story building and a 47 story building.

Straw man. The buildings DID withstand the airplane impacts. What they couldn't withstand was the weight of the upper floors falling down onto the lower floors. That much stored energy being released was WAY beyond their design specifications. And bigger buildings have more stored energy.

A: The planes were uniformly placed in the buildings, they weren't, one barely grazed the building and the other was basically on one side of the building. This means, the buildings would have not fell in the exact same manner, and that potential energy would not project matter outward AND downward and show the pattern of collapse and dust that these buildings had.
B:The fire wasn't hot enough to cause that much stress on the steel.

For those people who say World Trade Center 7 collapsed from debris caused by the collapse of World Trade Center 1... How do you explain how WTC 7 collapsed in on itself? If one side of the building was severely damaged by debris and fire... the building would have toppled over towards WTC 1 and not fallen in on itself.
Even if the building were completely engulfed in flames, it would not have enough heat to affect the integrity of the heavily reinforced support beams.

yes it can and that fact has been proven over and over in independent studies. Steel loses 50% of its strength at 60% of its melting point. The fires in all three building easily reached temperatures that did exactly that. Couple that with the damage received from the planes in 1 & 2, and the debris from 1 in no. 7, and the amount of weight that steel had to hold...collapse was imminent for all 3. Every fire fighter near Ground Zero knew 7 was coming down without CD

So if you want to pull a building down just put a few dozen drums of jet fuel near top of the building and explosives on that floor and blow them up. Demolition crews are starting to use that method, it saves a lot of man hours

Jet fuel doesn't burn very hot, around 1400 degrees, and most of it burned off when the aircraft his the building. Those buildings were tremendously strong, designed with an inner and outer core, meant to withstand two airliner hits apiece. Steel skyscrapers don't fall down in one neat pile at freefall speeds unless the underlying structure is taken out first. Thermite, a military explosive, is designed to cut through steel structures; explosions were heard and traces were found at the site.

There were plenty of buildings closer to WTC 1 & 2 that got hit by debris, and did not collapse. WTC 7 was much further away than WTC 3, 4, 5, and 6.

first time in history a steel framed building collapsed due to fire and we get 3 buildings comming down in one day and first time in history a plane completely vaporize's and everyone on board and all thats left is a wee smoking hole in the ground in shanksville ( a hole that was already there prior to the ahem "crash" if one checks satellite image's of the area before the incident. no to me the whole 9/11 things smells of complete bullshit. the sad thing is 80% of americans do too and do 0
