i think dsp diddnt play very well against that scrub and he missed alot of opportunities(lol @ dsp's whiffed ultra) but i still agree with the point hes making. its usualy scrubs who try to get away with this shit cause learning combos scares them. even when they try it on me and it rarely works as i play as balrog and vega who have some sweet ways of closing the gap against fireballs but somtimes people who are actualy good do this to get easy wins of people at a similar or better skill level

street fighter is tachnically the best fighting game because it has great gameplay and if mortal kombat had that instead of bullshit sequels with a story that doesnt need to be added and falls apart anyway and even though mortal kombat is the most fanous fighting game of all time when it comes to gameplay (not counting the first 3 games) it sucks

I've quit SFiv online play for a while and played today a few games. Nothing has changed! The same BS lag, yet there still are morons who claim the lag is not an issue in this game. In that case use your brain to win, combos aren't everything. You just gotta pay attention to the time limit when you chose your opponent. Everyone has their own fighting style, you just gotta be smart enough to win. Even if it means just hiting the other player one hit at a time, winning's winning no matter how you play, so grow up.
World of WarCraft also banks on flaws because they are not selling the game, they are selling drama. The failures in the game are totally fixable, but are kept because it's fun to hear people exploit and complain.

rufus and ken being rivals doesnt make it a fair fight. like DSP said some characters have problems against fireballs, these characters rely on blocking fireballs (witch gives chip damage= life lead) and they rely on having enough time to close the gap so their only tactic is pretty much useless in a 30 second match. so how is that fair?
I don't play fighting games because I am awful at them, but explain something to me about Street Fighter 4:
Isn't the opposite also true? IE, some characters are very weak in a 99 second, best 2/3 tournament style match? Couldn't one argue that certain characters are built for certain levels of speed and that some fast characters are less successful in a 99 second game? Or are all characters balanced around that 99 second, 2/3 game?
i feel that there all balanced around 99 seconds other games it might not b unfair but with sf4 zoning is a big part of this game, the shorter time affects mostly those that have a bad match up anyway. characters with great range and projectiles give other certain characters a tough time anyway. they rely on having time to corner an oponent. pro sf4 players Iyo and Ootetsusan play ranged and fast characters amazingly at tournaments check IYO vs Mago theyve had some good matches :D
bad idea, realistic graphics get outdated each generation. art styles are always beautiful. i really don't want to see it so realistic. if it were realistic, they'd probably make everyone stereotypical in appearance. lol
truly realistic graphics may take about 2 more console generations. it would be cool, but then what else would need improving on? if they got realistic graphics, the consoles would cost too much, no doubt about that. but i think ps3 is having 3d games. that's the next step now since no one will be releasing new consoles as ps3 and 360 are just getting motion controls.
lol PCs are about at that point, all they have to do is make the games, I have a mid range system and it dominates any game thats released multiplatform, running highest settings, just 9800gtx1gb and I'm getting another one for sli, c2d e8500, look at crysis and shit a ton of games, of course consoles will remain in the dust, can't be upgraded( i read a Q&A piece in a gaming mag a few yrs back, recommending someone sell ps3 to buy new GPU, problem solved lol :P

I think you're overestimating the issues with lag. It's going to vary between people and sessions. Overall I barely get lag. Of course, it's not perfect and you can't expect the same from an online match as an offline one. That's just it. It's a slightly different game online but it's till a good game. Try playing Tekken 6 and you'll realize how good SF4 really is compared to the competition.
Okay try beating a Good sagat with Honda or a good dhalsim with zangief with a 30 second time limit. 30 seconds isn't Enough time to corner a hit'n'run shoto for alot of the cast

@Teppuchea, yes even if connections are shitty still no lag whatsoever in the matches. I have played at least 300 online matches on BlazBlue and not once the game has lag it feels exactly the same as local play.
Blazblue has lag, but I understand what you're saying. The game will say connections are bad when they really aren't and lag is virtually unseen, but despite that, I have encountered pretty laggy matches on Blazblue. That's not to say, though, that Blazblue's online play is better than any fighting games' released in 2009.
dude i bet this 'easy mode' is the only way you can win on ranked matches and let me guess.. u main someone with a fireball?. they probably will have a 99 second minimum for SSFIV.a thirty second time limit is very unfair. sagat vs honda is the best example. this is because honda has no special tools for punishing or avoiding projectiles,usually the best way to get in is to block and use nautral jump FP wich gives sagat the life lead and takes TIME to get close enough to him.

I've quit SFiv online play for a while and played today a few games. Nothing has changed! The same BS lag, yet there still are morons who claim the lag is not an issue in this game. The same scrubs mashing those buttons on waking-up, blockstrings, trades and even when they are dizzy???/!!!(you know who you are!). I'm not really looking forward to a SSFiv with the same netcode and the same easy button shortcuts(button mashing shoryuken scrubs! You know who you are!).

I know, I think 99 seconds is too long. It might be the tounement standard, but I think it's stupid. I think 60 seconds (1 minute) is long enough. Yeah, 30 seconds is to short, but like I said, I think 99 seconds is too long. I think 60 seconds is long enough. I can't tell you how many fighting games I played in the past where I can easily beat a guy in 60 seconds, actually, under 60 seconds.

So true we always have to consider that we the people are responsible sometimes for lag, some just can't afford the greatest most expensive connection that allows us to play at harmony with no lag. This guy shouldn't complain about that he should just accept that he lame at playing SF4 I mean C'mon Rufus VS Ken is a perfectly fair match they're rivals.

rufus and ken being rivals doesnt make it a fair fight. like DSP said some characters have problems against fireballs, these characters rely on blocking fireballs (witch gives chip damage= life lead) and they rely on having enough time to close the gap so their only tactic is pretty much useless in a 30 second match. so how is that fair?

I don't play fighting games because I am awful at them, but explain something to me about Street Fighter 4:
Isn't the opposite also true? IE, some characters are very weak in a 99 second, best 2/3 tournament style match? Couldn't one argue that certain characters are built for certain levels of speed and that some fast characters are less successful in a 99 second game? Or are all characters balanced around that 99 second, 2/3 game?

i feel that there all balanced around 99 seconds other games it might not b unfair but with sf4 zoning is a big part of this game, the shorter time affects mostly those that have a bad match up anyway. characters with great range and projectiles give other certain characters a tough time anyway. they rely on having time to corner an oponent. pro sf4 players Iyo and Ootetsusan play ranged and fast characters amazingly at tournaments check IYO vs Mago theyve had some good matches :D

truly realistic graphics may take about 2 more console generations. it would be cool, but then what else would need improving on? if they got realistic graphics, the consoles would cost too much, no doubt about that. but i think ps3 is having 3d games. that's the next step now since no one will be releasing new consoles as ps3 and 360 are just getting motion controls.

lol PCs are about at that point, all they have to do is make the games, I have a mid range system and it dominates any game thats released multiplatform, running highest settings, just 9800gtx1gb and I'm getting another one for sli, c2d e8500, look at crysis and shit a ton of games, of course consoles will remain in the dust, can't be upgraded( i read a Q&A piece in a gaming mag a few yrs back, recommending someone sell ps3 to buy new GPU, problem solved lol :P

I think you're overestimating the issues with lag. It's going to vary between people and sessions. Overall I barely get lag. Of course, it's not perfect and you can't expect the same from an online match as an offline one. That's just it. It's a slightly different game online but it's till a good game. Try playing Tekken 6 and you'll realize how good SF4 really is compared to the competition.

Don't try and blame you sucking at Street Fighter on the settings of the match. If it were longer and more rounds, you would still lose to someone playing Ken in that way. Yeah, it's cheap, but that's how it swings, get better or shut the hell up.

@Teppuchea, yes even if connections are shitty still no lag whatsoever in the matches. I have played at least 300 online matches on BlazBlue and not once the game has lag it feels exactly the same as local play.

Blazblue has lag, but I understand what you're saying. The game will say connections are bad when they really aren't and lag is virtually unseen, but despite that, I have encountered pretty laggy matches on Blazblue. That's not to say, though, that Blazblue's online play is better than any fighting games' released in 2009.

dude i bet this 'easy mode' is the only way you can win on ranked matches and let me guess.. u main someone with a fireball?. they probably will have a 99 second minimum for SSFIV.a thirty second time limit is very unfair. sagat vs honda is the best example. this is because honda has no special tools for punishing or avoiding projectiles,usually the best way to get in is to block and use nautral jump FP wich gives sagat the life lead and takes TIME to get close enough to him.
