dude that "knock" is like so common in the 3.1 i have a 1999 monte carlo with over 200k it does that when its cold to you just give it a minute to warm up lol its because these engines have no clearence between the valves and the piston so when it hits top dead center it makes a little noise if there was somthing wrong with it you would know lol
