ذرائع ابلاغ میں شائع ہونے والی قیاص آرائیوں کے مطابق ابواللیث اللیبی کو دو روز قبل شمالی وزیرستان میں بغیر پائلٹ کے امریکی طیارے کے ذریعے فائر کیے جانے والے میزائل میں مارا گیا تھا۔

لیکن اس بارے میں جب فوج کے ترجمان میجر جنرل اطہر عباس سے پوچھا تو انہوں نے کہا کہ تاحال ان کے پاس مصدقہ اطلاع نہیں اور وہ قیاص آرائیوں پر مبنی خبروں پر تبصرہ کرنا نہیں چاہتے۔

'تقریباً سوا سال پہلے پشاور میں لیبیا کے سفارتکار حسین کحیل آئے تھے اور میری معرفت ان کی ابو اللیث اللبی سے ملاقات ہوئی تھی۔ وہاں ابو اللیث اللبی ریڈ کراس کی گاڑی میں پہنچے تھے۔'

جاوید ابراہیم پراچہ کہتے ہیں کہ دو سال پہلے تک ابواللیث اللیبی پاکستان میں آزادانہ طور پر گھومتے پھرتے تھے اور وہ ان سے کئی بار مل بھی چکے ہیں۔

'بنوں اور پشاور کی ہسپتالوں میں زیر علاج مجاہدین کی دیکھ بھال کے لیے ابو اللیث اللیبی آیا کرتے تھے اور وہ انتہائی نیک اور متقی نوجوان تھے۔'

پراچہ کے مطابق ابو اللیث اللیبی کا القائدہ سے تعلق تو نہیں تھا لیکن ضرورت پڑنے پر محاذ جنگ پر وہ ایک ہی پرچم تلے لڑتے۔ ان کے بقول ازبک شدت پسندوں سے بھی ابو اللیث کے قریبی تعلقات تھے۔ 'نیک اور متقی نوجوان'

'ورلڈ جہاد رابطہ کونسل' اور 'ورلڈ پریزنرز کمیشن' نامی تنظیموں کے سربراہ اور سابق رکن قومی اسمبلی جاوید ابراہیم پراچہ نے بی بی سی سے بات کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ ابواللیث اللیبی کا ابو فراج اللیبی سے اختلاف رائے تھا اور دونوں کے گروہ مختلف تھے۔

'ابو فراج اللیبی اسامہ بن لادن کی براہ راست کمان میں تھے جبکہ ابو اللیث اللبی کا تیس سے چالیس لیبیائی شدت پسندوں (جنہیں وہ مجاہدیں کہتے رہے) پر مشتمل اپنا گروپ ہے جس کے وہ کمانڈر تھے۔'
