Which do you think has better perf out of the SMX Plus or Supertech R? Which do you think is an all round better boot? Mainly for road riding but a bit of track riding too
@lopez95632 These would be your best option IMO. They offer the comfort needed for street riding and the protection needed for the race track. Our best seller in 2011 for good reason
@M1TCH959 The new design offers similar protection with less bulk. That was the goal with the new model and I feel they achieved it. More protection is available from the Alpinestars Supertech R Boots if your number one concern is top level protection.
I put some on today and after like 5 mins of having them on walking and even standing in them it feels like slippers i'm not lying it's like velvet for your feet!
How does onbike feel compared to the outgoing SMX-Plus and a first Gen SMX-R. I love both boots for different reasons and crashed on the road in both. Is the profile more like the SMX-R but maintains the support and protection of the plus? I'm out in the hunt for new boots because the heels have gone on my SMX-plus due to the amount of walking I've done in them!
@Titot182 I have not yet ridden in these boots (I am a Supertech R guy myself) but I can say they fit and feel of these boots when walking around the shop is ridiculous. I expect these will be very good on the bike as well.
I was hoping you would put the boots on. Can you wear looser fitting pants over the boots? (leathers in and other pants out, I find that more comfortable)
i believe i read you were going to ride the boots, have you, what are your thoughts and did they squeak?
And finally, this boot seems to place somewhere between the Dainese Torque Out Pro and the Race Out, can you compare these 3 in the vented versions? (I'm saving for boots with ankle/shin protection)
@yanassi Yes you could wear loose fitting jeans over the boots, no worries. I do not expect these boots will squeak like the former model would. When it comes to footwear Alpinestars easily trumps Dainese IMO
@TheGixxer7fitty I wear size 10 sneakers and bought the 43. It was a little tight at first, but stretched out after 3 days/300 miles of canyon riding. I have narrow feet and skinny ankles, so I don't know if you have fatter feet then that might be an issue. Anyway, these boots are dope! They are lighter and much more narrow than my old Dainese Torque Out boots. The sole and top of the boots are thin so you can feel the pegs from the start. Most comfortable boot I've ever tried on!
These boots are pure sex. How is it compares to Supertech R? I do walk around more than riding and I need something very comfortable for walking around. Supertech R is kinda out of my equation since it's TOO expensive for me even with Jason's deal sigh....
On the side note, I would like some review on new A* logic jeans too if you have a chance. :)
@Cinoism We have not yet ridden in these. That being said my expectations are they will perform as expected. The comfort level of this boot is amazing. Alpinestars footwear is the best in the sportbike category now.
@Sportbiketrackgear Will you guys do another shoot anytime soon about the fit and feel on and of the bike? I really like how it looks, but the multi-link rather flexy than heavy duty. I'm curious how it will hold up in the event of crash. I know it's not going to be like Supertech R, but hopefully, it's better than last year model.

Just a quick question...do these boots still offer the same protection as the old smx's as they are a lot less bulky, thanks Mitch.

How do these fit? True to size? I'm about a 9.4ish US, a 9.5 sneaker will almost perfectly fit me and a 9.0 will be too tight.
Thanks.
