Where do you see that? The Miata was only getting pulled on the straights, but was back to it's bumper in the braking zones. If they were allowed to pass anywhere but the straights, the Miata would have pulled out a gap and the Evo wouldn't have been able to close it even with it's straightline speed. The Miata was short shifting in the corners cause the Evo was in the way most of the time. The Miata would have passed him in Rattlesnake EVERY LAP if it was allowed.
It isn't the first time the Miata has been all over an Evo at MSR. The driver was good, but he was beyond his driving ability trying to stay ahead of the Miata. Even with a "better" driver, it wouldn't have been much different. The Miata had the Evo in braking, handling, and short acceleration areas (no lag vs big laggy 500whp Evo). The Miata was short shifting most of the time cause the Evo was slowing him down. Don't under-estimate a well setup Miata.
Nice to see a Miata doing well but lets also be honest... The Evo's driver is horrible. He was burning his rubber and leaving the track all over the place. With a different(better) driver it wouldn't have been close.

Seems to me like if that Evo didn't keep getting hung up in traffic it would have consistently pulled away from the Miata.
