cj spiller is like another reggie bush. he hasn't been playing great and to be honest if he wants to score in the nfl by more things than kickoff's he needs to step up his game
Spiller's speed and agility are impressive but, let's be honest, he has been inconsistent as hell plus he's had trouble staying healthy. I hope he does well this year because one really good game out of every four games won't cut it in the NFL.
He's had some knee issues and had a pretty severe hamstring injury a couple of years ago. To my knowledge, he hasn't played every game of a season yet. I believe he hasn't missed a game this season but the season isn't over.
bull864 got in an argument he cant support. he's talking shit on a subject he doesnt even know about. any school in the country would want CJ on their team cause he's smart, fast as a mother fucker, and knows how to play football. even LSU would take him in a second.
oh, i don't know about this subject so educate me. what argument can i not support? i don't think you have a clue what i am talking about because if you read my posts you wouldn't make such idiotic statements.
i read your posts dumbass. your talking about how stupid Spiller is and how he cant speak right. who cares. he's very smart and has a speech impedement like many other people. and clemson's standards are high.
he doesn't have a speech impedement he just can't speak proper english. he is a typical football player. every school has them but i don't get why clemson fans are stupid enough to think they hold athletes to a higher standard than other BCS schools. if what you say is true, than why does clemson sign juco players and place athletes in prep school? because they want to win and academics take a back seat to winning. if you don't believe this than you just don't get it.
you must know spiller pretty well. are yall like best friends?
and you have to have real good grades to get in clemson. or you have to have a scolarship. and if your not a good student then they will help the athlete make good grades.
they arent dumbasses that can fail and still play football. they have to have good grades or they wont play.
they have to pass or they won't play. you are right about the helping the student make better grades..they have tutors. hell, i like the way spiller plays and he seems like a nice kid. i just laugh when people talk about clemson holding players to a higher standard than other schools and guys like spiller don't get preferential treatment because they are great football players. bottom line is we ALL give certain football players preferential treatment.
What do you expect? I saw an interview with a Clemson defensive tackle a few years ago during the Tommy Bowden Show. In it, the player (whose name I don't recall) said "Yeah, the coaches move me around a lot so other teams don't pick up on my weaknesses and strongnesses." I wish I could say I made this up but it's absolutely true.
i hear ya bud. do you think clemson players on the dean's list is legit? i heard spiller was on the dean's list and he can barely complete an audible sentence. that says a lot about a clemson education. what it amounts to kid is if you want to be a good program you have to recruit kids who aren't very smart...that's every school. Clemson is no different from LSU in that they recruit kids who wouldn't be accepted academically if they didn't play football. You have to know this.
bull864, you're right that all schools recruit players who wouldn't have been accepted as regular students. Clemson is no different, but I do think they hold their student-athletes to a somewhat higher standard than most of the SEC.
You're *totally wrong* about C.J. Spiller. He's a very smart, articulate guy. Watch any interview with him. He has a ton of physical talent, but I've always been impressed with his character.
spiller seems like a nice kid but don't fool yourself. he has a hard time completing a sentence (not as bad as Davis the other rb) and he tested positive for marijuana twice. Personally, i don't care if he smoked pot but if he didn't have 4.3 speed and all those moves he wouldn't be on the team. if clemson, north carolina, florida state, etc. held students to a higher standard than SEC schools they couldn't compete. the ONLY three schools in either conf. who do that are Wake, Duke, and Vandy
Spiller is an outstanding back. As an AU fan, I worried about my guys stopping him and Davis the entire game. Clemson and Auburn were 2 evenly matched teams. Could've gone either way. Thrilled we won.
can anyone say heisman?

bull864, what are you, a LSU fan? You do know that Clemson far outranks them academically, right?
tron81 2 years ago
haha the ultimate battle cry for a fan of a losing team. clemson may be academically better than LSU but clemson's football players are morons.
bull864 2 years ago
bull864, yes "morons" who are on the Dean's List at a far better school than LSU and almost all the schools in the SEC?

IT was enough to get us to that game. Maybe it was the win before this game that propelled us to this game, remember that game?

To bad it was'nt enough to win the game huh? Oh wait a minute....it was SEC officials right?
