  • Angelic harmonies! This is a real treat. Never got to see this Supremes combo live.

This should put an end to that "Mary can't sing" stuff. And I do like what Scherrie's doing (it's not Jean, but hey...), every singer likes to put their own stamp on a song.

That end (and the very beginning) are killer!

  • Sometimes Scherrie just needs to chill and sing the song, though love it! Should have been a smash.

  • lovin this post and any fellow Supreme fanatic !!

  • Mary nails it--why doesnt she sing in a higher key more often??

  • I think this is the best song the 70's Supremes ever did. It really shoulda been a monster soul ballad.

  • This song is so lovely. I can't believe it stalled in the top 80 in the USA. :(

  • one of their best 70s songs but i never understood why Mary didnt sing the entire lead.

  • I LOVE MARY AND I THINK SHE WAS SMART FOR NOT SINGING THE WHOLE LEAD. i MEAN SHE HAS A VERY HUSKY ALTO VOICE AND I THINK SHE KNEW HOW BEAUTIFUL THE SONG WAS AND WHERE IT NEEDED TO GO..NOT SAYING SHE DOESNT HAVE A BEAUTIFUL BUT KNEW HER LIMITATIONS.. SO SHE SPLIT THE LEAD

  • Producer Frank Wilson wrote that song especially for Mary because he wanted her to start singing leads and he was capitvated by her voice.

  • one of my favorite supremes song..but I like the single version better

  • only part of it was meant for her. But I guess it would have been more realistic from one lead instead of two from the thoughts of one.

  • Obscure but brilliant we need more...!

  • By the time this lineup came out, Berry Gordy was not promoting the Supremes at all. As great as this song was, it was doomed without promotion. The two follow-ups were written and produced by Smokey Robinson, so they were promoted and made the charts.

  • I like the Jackson Five's version of this song too.

  • Yep, Me too. They also did "Refections" and Michael did "Love Is Here & Now You're Gone" both cuts are worthy of a mention. I also like the Tops version of Reflections but I love everything they've done - especially the "Nature Planned It" album produced by the brilliant Frank Wilson.

  • great clip thank u

  • Oops! That was Cindy singing "Groove me with your touch.." at 3:24-3:28. My bad!!

  • At 3:24-3:28 you could hear Mary singing "Groove Me With Your Touch..." but you see her sining "Touch...". OOooops!

  • I love seeing these clips. It brings back memories when I saw then in 1974. I was so young I don't remember every song they sang.

  • I love the tempo of this live recording. The studio version is a little faster, but harder to slow dance off of. This is perfect for those intimate moments of dancing. Superb!!!!

  • This was beautiful. I'll never understand why this song was not a bigger hit. It seems to have all of the elements of a hit. Although I was a child, I do not remember hearing it on the radio. Of course then I was not into too many slow cuts, so maybe I just ignored it. I like it now! (smile)

  • Now I am sad, as I really would have loved to see more of Cindy, Mary and Scherrie, I keep praying that someone will put up more Jean, Mary and Cindy clips too.

  • I've got more - it just takes time to process the stuff from the old, OLD VHS & Beta tapes I have. Be patient, you willl see some more I promise! Stoned Love, Steve.

  • Great performance, Scherrie does a fine job on Jean's original vocals. Truly Supreme.

  • Sorry to see this series come to an end. Thank you for sharing this truly enjoyable concert with us. This line-up proved that they could also "keep the music playing."
