Well, that was a good video to show to a kid I'll give it that much. This guy would have been laughed at in my facility for calling a stitch a "staple". I love how they always make the printing presses look clean and easy haha!
LOL, the mueller isn't the machine that goes at speeds that defy human imagination. No one likes working in bindery if they could work on the press instead.
What did I just watch? Talk about an embarrassing half ass production that literally explains nothing of what the printing industry does. Thanks for wasting my time.
I fucking hate these sort of videos from 'how stuff works' and 'expert village'. I just want a video that simply explains every step as if you are a retard so i clearly get what is going on, i want it to be nicely put together without a fat american virgin who plays halo on xbox live, telling me 'that is how a magazine works'. What a douche bag.
Blah. Way to skip the editors, designers, the whole plate making process, the CMYK explanation, registration, and the rest of the whole process involved in printing. Sheesh
donsherio, I was "offended" as well... I mean, I design and print for a living... nothing is as simple as this video makes it to be!!! It's pretty much sweat, blood and tears ;-)
@donsherio i think this vid was just for the finished product of the mag going to the press. i dont think it was meant to sho you how to actually produce a mag from start to finsih.
Wow...that was kind of the condensed version....and they only covered the (contraption???????) stitching at that....what about the perfect binders? They could have covered the 4/c process a little more too.
smallcomment- when you see the whole operation im sure even you would appreciate how good it is, i work 6 colour web machines and heidelberg speedmaster sheetfed machines and the rate at which these machines go at is amazing!
LOL - Must admit, it didn't look that impressive. When they're going at full speed its a bit different. I run Speedmaster presses. Max speed 18000p/h.
@kangeroobru lol dude when I worked for Creps United Publications we had a Goss C700 that put out 165,000 copies an hour, and that was crazy, paper here paper there paper up your ass, paper jamming the stackers haha
OOOHHOUUU this good work, helped me understand a little about printing machines
Thank you very much

That's pretty much like saying "How a car works" - just plug in the key, twist it and stear it using that big round thing in front of you...

What about folding? Did they just magically fold themselves between the cutter and the stitcher?

These printing machines cost alittle bit..
But they are nice because they can produce good quantities in short time.
