I love watching this...I love Van Gogh's paintings...You've definitely done a wonderful job creating it...You can see and hear so much in this piece...Thanks so much for sharing your artistic work.
Wow! Beautifully done, billym99. You surely were inspired. Love is shining here in Vincent's work, the song, and your wonderful arrangement of it all.
Would you care to share how you did the fadeins and outs around the 30 second mark where the white flowers linger and the pic-in-pic effects around the 2m45sec mark.
yes, that is one of my favorite shots and i did it in premiere using a blue screen effect. it took me several days (in photoshop) to cut out a selection of the tree, every little branch, which allowed me to make everything EXCEPT the tree pure blue. this was used in Premiere on an upper layer while the background changed below. then i just added a long slow movement to the bluescreen tree.
i think it was during those long patient and peaceful hours of cutting out the tree that I began to have the feeling that Van Gogh's "spirit" or "ghost" or entity of some kind was watching me (called, i guess, by the love in my devotion) and which was sometimes giving me guidance.
i know that might sound weird, but it really means is that during the several months of making this video i came to LOVE Vincent completely. I got so familiar with the paintings and the brushstrokes that it was like he got into my head, and I was at times close to tears.
Hello Bill - My friend Larry (awalkalongmingocreek) who I think is just as talented as the great Vincent asked me to view this video on his blog and I did and I'm awestruck. Thank you for creating this so that those of us who love Vincent can watch it over and over and relive this fabulous feeling :)
i could only hear half of it on account of my missing ear...okay, that was in poor taste, but i can tell you this, it is one of the most achingly beautiful songs ever and i still remember the chill i felt on hearing it for the first time as a young man
like vincent? check out oh3.net. be sure to read the first paragraph.

By the way, it's Don McLean, not McClean. If you're going to correct him, correct him all the way.
