Awesome song!!! Gives you the chills thinking about the old church I wentt to when I was kid..my mom and dad singing this along with the congregation..I cna still hear it!!! Thanks for posting this!!
Actually, it was 1977 and recorded at the Tivoli Theater in Chattanooga, TN. In my opinion, one of the top 10 LIVE albums of ALL time. The line-up was as follows: Ray Dean Reese-bass, Squire Parsons-baritone, Jim Hamill-lead, Ernie Phillips-tenor, Nick Bruno-piano, Jim McCauley-bass guitar, Greg Fox(13 years old)-drums, Gary Dillard(I believe 18 years old)-steel guitar and Eldridge Fox-keyboards(adding to Nick Bruno's piano)
These guys are awesome, all of them. But they are missing little Ernie Phillips, who is the most awesome tenor singer of all time i my opinion. He did amazing on this song when it was first released years ago. I was lucky enough to book them, and hang out with them back then, and i will tell you that they lived what they sang. I am happy to say that Ray and i are still friends. Love ya Ray!!! God bless!!!!

I think this was 1997 at memorial auditorium in Chattanooga. 1977 Chris Collins and Jay would have still been in middle school

both great basses, but I would have rather heard tim riley do the deeper part. I like his bass a little better ;P

Beautiful song! Great to hear two great bass singers, both Tim Riley and Ray Dean Reese.
