The s1 had 476 hp with a KKK turbocharger cutting off at 38 bar, you can hear the rpm limiter every time the driver changes gear. The 360 hp model I was referring to was the civil version.
In the 1983 Audi made "A1" and "A2" models with 360 hp...in 1984 (May) born the "Quattro Sport" model with 450 hp...in the July 1985 came the fantastic "S1" with its 500 hp..but in 1986 it had about 600 hp...and the Pikes Peak version even more...I think that Audi S1 and Delta S4 are the best Rally Cars ever..Group B,in my opinion,has been the greatest expression of Rally.
The incredible sound it makes is due to the five cilinder configuration that has a stroke phase every 1/5 of crankshaft rotation (agaist the 1/2 of a normal 4 cilinder) that results in 2,5 active phases (when the sparks fire, for non intenders) against the 2 of the four cil. for every single rotation, in terms of power 25% more hp of a 4 cil. with the same displacement.
I love the sound of that beast!!! the turbo sound is amazing!!! after seeing this actual rally cars seem so dull .

The "S1" model had almost 600 hp...a real monster..the most powerful with the Delta S4. I'm totally in love with the old and legendary Group B!
