about people calling shiva's tandav as destructive is would just say shiva was a god of creation. the Dravidian believed in creation and shiva was some one worshiped by them including me. no god of the hindu aryans can be compared with shiva. shivas destruction should be considered as an old building going for redevelopment. the old building is destroyed and a new one is created in its place. which is better than the old.

Shame on you invading aryans for tarnishing the legacies of shiva and ravana. killing of his son is symbolic. Chopping off his head should be deciphered as killing of all the wrong and filthy ideas and replacing it with an elephants brain which is known for its good qualities and temperament. elephant symbolizes strength and raw power which needs an amazing brain to control it. power with out control is a potential accident waiting to happen.

with the powers that were about to be be bestowed on his son shiva knew that the brain that parvati had given her son was inadequate to harness and control those powers so he replaced it. He actually made his son capable enough to handle the responsibilities given to him by all the then demigods. My question was on the claim that Ganesh was born without the knowledge of so called nude snake god Shiva. If at all Shiva was god how on earth he did not know about his Mrs handicraft. With regards to Jesus, he was born to a virgin Mother with the permission of God like Adam and Eve were born without parents. God can do anything and everything and has knowledge about everything in his creation. But Hindu gods does not seem to have any knowledge about their colleague gods and godess.

This is how Ganesh is thus seen today, by shiva's decapitation the gods then decide to replace with a new head. that is why we see Ganesh as a humanly qualities but with an elephant head to represent intellect. he proves himself so intelligent he then as thus becomes the first to be worshipped during puja. hurray for Ganesh

this is what happened, parvati's friend said that their son "ganesh" only respects his dad "shiva" so parvati put a challenge to her son, she said whilst she will bath, no-one is allowed into their mountain home, shiva returns home and ganesh refuses his entry. shiva tells his disciples to teach ganesh a lesson, but with his mothers blessings ganesh turns away shivas disciples. in anger shiva cuts off his sons head, then replaces it with a elephant head. thats the truth told in simple words!!!
