The interviewer should have shown more respect to the aging Karpov when he made the comment, that 20 somewhat years ago you were on top of the world and today you draw to a French man , korpov is a gentleman !! I wish he would have said screw you interview over !
He is such a gentleman. A unique style of play, a genius no less or no more than kasparov in my opinion. Just a disappointment that he doesn't make Chessbase videos about his life. Would be so great to know his psychology when he played those nerve wracking WC games. Karpov's legacy will remain.
I think this interviewer was disrespectful to Karpov at 4:07. Even the best players in the world occasionally get a draw or even a loss against much weaker opposition, for example Carlsen lost to Kosteniuk. Maybe the interviewer is so bad himself that draws are unusual at his level and he doesn't understand how at a high level the latest opening theory can greatly shape games. Karpov answered very well and like a gentleman as always.
I mean it's 100% expected by the rating system. Karpov is not as brilliant as he was but he is still exceptional and in the top 200 with little training. Even if he weren't it's not a nice question to ask a chess giant like Karpov. If he asked Korchnoi how does it feel to lose or draw to a poorer player he would probably get a smack!!!

its funny how his way of staring has changed with years, just look at him in the past, very arrogant attitude.

@laughtolive1 He was little more than a sheltered boy then. I think he just grew up and became a gentleman!
