The reality that majority of players that are drafted in the 4th round or below don't amount to much of anything...regardless anyways, I agree draft picks are important, but a 4th round pick is not going to make a difference in getting a top3 pick as the other poster was suggessting. it would have to have been Luke Schenn + the 7th overall pick MINIMUM. A 4th round pick isn't going to immesinely persuade a GM in a top 4 position to move down to 7th.

And the point Burke makes is that in order to get TAVARES (not "Traverse" as you so terribly spelled it) you'd have to pay a huge price, which would set the team back, and in the end it would even out and you would have gotten nowhere. I like what he's doing. Defense was the Leafs' biggest problem last season, and Burke is working to fix that first. The talent up front will come later.

Montreal is brutal.. They'll probably only be able to sign 1-2 out of Komisarek, Koivu, Kovalev, Tanguay and all their other scrubs who are free agents, Price sucks, Markov and whoever they sign are their only good players and they hardly have prospects.
