i got 4890 1 GB xD very good crysis is a peice of cake for the 4890 i run it very high 8 x AA 1680x1050 30-40 fps DX10

yeah it runs great on my GTX 260 core 216 55nm too. around 20-30 fps 1280*1024 16xq AA DX10

ATi can go up to 24x AA but crysis doesnt allow me to go any higher than 8x

well i think that ati might have a better image (24x AA) but the sad thing is that it does not have much support.

does the 8600 need to be plugged into your powersupply or does it just draw power the board.

some of them need a 6-pin power connector like the evga and XFX ones which would probably allow better overclocking!

mine does not require a power connector though. its from sparkle.

Hey i want to get this new computer please tell me how i can run crysis, right now im at 25 fps on low :O with a single core.

I wanna get:

Core 2 Quad q6660 2.4ghz

3-4 Gb DDR 2 Ram (not sure yet)

8600gt which i manually overclocked by a LOT

And i player at 1440 by 900

if you have a power supply that can run the 8600 then the 8800gs wont be a problem!!!

but if u stay with the 8600 then you will run the game like i did!!!

and all settings on medium but if u overclock your card you can get all settings to High except shaders to medium!

and download the latest driver it really helps!

dont worry :) with my hardware i can play crysis with ~20-25fps all settings to "High" and 800x600 :

AMD Athlon64 X2 4000+

crysis is not nice on 800*600 it should be at least 1024*768 and the game is very smooth on 16fps dont worry!!:):)

you have wrong in 2 things here!.First of all, crysis is very nice on 800*600 !. just look at my videos it does not looking bad at all man!.And the second thing, you cant destroy houses on low. not if you having physics and shaders on low. but if you having physics and shaders on medium and everything else on low u can. good vid btw :)
