  • i should imagine alot has gone on we probably will never get to know about between boeing and nasa

  • Someone has to film this so you can watch...I give all the credit to the camera guy! People never take this in consideration.

  • what is this tune? What is the title?

  • so whos flying

  • What is the name of the song playing?

  • Mounting the shuttle "Enterprise" atop a 747 must have been a tremendous task.

  • Goodbye Space Shuttle !!

    I'll MISS YOU !!!

  • 747 is a masterpiece!

  • That is the most BAMF thing ever! Pour one out for the shuttle program...

  • 0:50 They've stolen Moonraker!!

  • @tommyzDad lolz, i love the 007 movies...

  • How those guys put that shuttle on the 747? LOL

  • @Ttchiago Google "Shuttle Mate Demate Device"

  • looks like a plane porno :P

  • I wish people would stop putting still pictures on YouTube. This is a video site not a photo album site. Put them on Flickr or something.

  • That fucking shuttle... thinks it's so badass, just piggybackin' like nothing's happenin'

  • Let's take off!!!

  • What a cute couple. Do they have kids?

  • and that son is how helicopters are made

  • Nice video and music is excellent , that reminded me your pictures in cockpit of 747 , God bless you.

  • Nice video and music is excellent , that reminded me your pictures in cockpit of 747 , God bless you

  • great vid thanks for sharing this with us. Makes me proud to be a human

  • I don't understand :S why was it on a plane? Cuz they would of know planes couldn't go into space, they are smarter than that. And they weren't just flying it some where else cuz it came off? Could someone help me with a serious answer? :)

  • @mrlongboarding100

The Shuttle is transported by the 747 back to Kennedy after a landing in California (or a maintenance period in Palmdale). The part where the Shuttle detached from the 747 was an early test flight in 1977, years before the first shuttle flew to space.

  • just like a daddy with his son =)

  • We got 6 cosmonauts on here.

  • This was before they figured out that space has vacuum that prevents an airplane to deliver the shuttle into it.

  • so this is how planes are made

  • @noal900

    paahahahahha!!!

  • doesnt something like this happen at the start of one of the bond movies?

  • The space shuttle should use it's engines and CRASH a airport.

    That's gonna teach Boeing.

  • @Pit5302 Airbus Fanboy...

  • @Pit5302 lol u

  • おんぶしてるみたい。かわいーw

  • Comment removed

  • cant be too dangerous they should have listened to burt rutan a carrier craft is much better than those wasteful carrierrocket they use still

  • lol this random but didnt this get stopped because it was too dangerous or something

  • what the name of this music?

  • Whats the name of this musik?

  • hi

    nice video!

could you please tell us the name of the soundtrack?

    its very great

  • At 0:06 it looks like its flying over a jail LOL

  • film about gay love muahahah

  • What was the name of the original soundtrack ?

  • boeing 747 and the Space Shuttle are gays i knwe it

  • @harryfucker1988 NO LOL the Boeing is a boy The Shuttle is a girl lol.

  • they have sex

  • The original soundtrack was much better =(

  • Could anyone please tell me what the soundtrack is? Thanks.

  • Thealienfan misses the point. There are not 600 passengers each with luggage. Nor seats. Nor crew. No trolleys, duty-free, books, papers, toilets etc. And of course, the shuttle will produce some lift from the airflow. Not enough to fly it, but enough to reduce it's effective weight

  • love the shot @ 0:11

  • What was the reason for not doing this anymore?

  • @tmonkeypunch too obscene..duh...

  • @jaredlee283 Come on, that can't be the only reason.

  • @tmonkeypunch and because there was a baby plane?and neither of the "adult" planes wanna take action? LOL

  • great job!..........

  • Do the wings on the space shuttle that's nailed to the SCA actually produce sufficient lift for the aircraft as a whole?

  • Where were they taking the space shuttle to and from where?

I think they were taking it to Florida, but I don't know.. Do you?

  • I didnt know that was possible. Just goes to show you learn something new everyday.

  • How does the plane handle the extra weight?

  • The extra weight is no problem, Today's 747's can carry twice the weight of the shuttle. The drag from carrying this on top makes it a bumpy ride.

  • @mach25man That is fantastic. What an impressive sight.

Think of all the money the airlines must make when they charge you for excess luggage!! Yet it can handle the weight of the shuttle. What a rip off. Cheers : )

  • hello guys! i've changed the soundtrack. i hope this is better. thanks for the comments.

  • @GSatiFan Hi, the soundtrack is from...? I like it a lot, please let me know who play the music. Thanks, great video. Regards from Spain

  • @GSatiFan I actually like the old soundtrack better, especially at the separation.

  • @GSatiFan Hey! What was the previous soundtrack.... ? I think that soundtrack gave these magnificent work of man more soul into it

  • MUSIC is ALWAYS stupid in such videos. This song in perticular. What a cheezy and useless thing.

  • wut a gay ass song

  • is it true that shuttles can land on 747s?

  • nope, they are just used to transport and deploy the shuttle (for practice landings)

  • oh ok but that still would be pretty cool though

  • fuckin incredible

  • the "soundtrack" is something terrible!!!

    change it right away!

  • was enterprise the only shuttle they ever did that stunt with?

  • Yes, but as you probably know, they are all carried back from Edwards that way.

  • The shot at 1.46 is incredible

  • Brother Bear Soundtrack? You Have Got To Be Kidding Me! Although, It Goes With The Video Very Well

  • music ia awful!!

  • 'merica.

  • lol the music kinda fits.... :)

  • The music reminds somthing military.A little.

  • The space bus is a glider. the have to test that after shutlle

  • It is not amazing what we have achieved in our life-time ? How far we have come only in the last 50 years ?? And if we are just a spec of dust in the timeline of this universe, imagine what will be in the next 1000 years!

  • unfortunately, probably blow ourselves up :)

  • shuttles arent made to take of on a road.

the boeing takes the thing to the air and release it. so the astronauts can train with it in the atmosphere.

  • amazing!

  • Wow! Does the Shuttle produce a lot of drag? Just curious...

  • with the shuttle on the back it reduces the distance of a 747 quite alot it canonly travel 1 third of the distance than normal on a 747 without the shuttle on its back

  • I dont know much....but what exactly does a Carrier aircraft do? I mean....the space shuttle launches into the space on the sides of a rocket right???

  • In the US, there are two launch pads used more than others and they are at each coast - one in the East and one in the Ouest. The 747 carries the space shuttle to either when needed.

Plus, it carries the space shuttle to altitude and separates from it and astronauts train landing the shuttle.

And not to mention that it looks cool - for public support. haha

  • Thnx Buddy......

  • Did you make that all up smilymez? ALL shuttles have taken off from KSC in Florida. The plane is used to bring them back to FL in the event bad weather in FL forces a landing at Edwards in CA. And astronauts train to land in simulators, not on live shuttles. The seperation from the 747 was done once (the only flight of the shuttle Enterprise) as a live test of the shuttle's aerodynamics and landing abilities before she could be sent into space.

  • The shuttle always launches from Florida on the east coast every time. Astronauts learn to land in a G4 and simulators. Thats all ! The shuttle is only on the 747 when the orbiter lands in California and has to be transported back to Florida.

  • Sorry, I didnt see the other guys comment until after I sent it to you...

  • its a transport vehicle...it transports it....

  • anyone knows this snog? it sounds great

  • nice vid, interesting choice of music. :)

  • i love flying that plane in fsx

  • Is this N905NA or N911NA

  • Great video. Nice job. 5 stars. :))))

  • Is that at Edwards Air Force Base in California? Or some parts of the video?

  • Nice clip. Must have been a pretty epic sight for the ones watching the Enterprise separate in-flight... not as epic as a proper Shuttle takeoff though :)

  • muy bueno

  • the 747 was carrying the prototype "Enterprise", used to test glide capabilities of the space suttle after its re-entry in the atmosphere, since the are no engines running during that part of the future missions of the suttle. Enterprise was never launched to space. This was in the late seventies. First suttle in space was ST Columbia in 1981.

  • Is this just in development? Have they actually launched a mission by doing this?

  • This is not possible. The Shuttle needs the solid rocket boosters and the external tank to reach orbit, it couldn't be properly launched from the SCA (Shuttle Carrying Aircraft). These were only flight and landing tests of the Enterprise prototype in the 70's, at the beginning of the Shuttle program.

  • Oh I see. Thank you!

  • About the jumbo jet, was it a 747-100?

  • It is a modified 747-100, the Shuttle Carrying Aircraft. It is still used today to carry the orbiters, for example after California landings.

  • never knew that a aeroplane is bigger than space shuttle

  • cool

  • good song!!!sounds like it has an African influence in it!!!

  • Imagine the space shuttle being shuttled by the boeing 747 into space...

  • god bless B747

  • That 747 is very old, probably by PAN AM, because the stripes still there. Why can NASA change the paint.

  • NASA probably bought over the plane and modify it to lighten its weight before repainting it as its own plane.NASA

  • good vid, whats the name of the song?

  • :19. LONG LIVE THE 747!!!

  • what is that piggy back for?

  • They were testing how a shuttle could land w/o launching and re-entering the earth's atmosphere

  • plane sex = plane babys!

  • I'd fuck the shit out of that plane... all night!

  • ..747 and shuttle both rock ..

    I second that!

  • 747 and shuttle both rock

  • Cool!!Long live the 747
