  • The music sounds Sega i love the music :)

  • @arizvega Yup, because this and the Sega Genesis both used FM synthesis.

  • awesome music.. I remember playing this game on Nes Nintendo.

  • Finally! I've been looking for this version of the Beginner Race song. Thanks for uploading (even though it's already been a few yrs XD)

  • @EnzeruAnimeFan No problem. Glad you enjoyed!

  • Ahhh, The level 2 music!

  • i use to play this at goldmine arcade in fairfelid cal back in 1984

  • I will search for this arcade. I love the NES version, would love to try it with a trackball. Really nice Stereo music!

  • That one thumbs down cant pass level one

  • the furthest i made it was level four

  • I LOVED THE THIRD LEVEL SONG!!!! srry for caps. i also have that game on xbox!

  • HELLS YES

  • @Watermellin He only did the NES version as far as I am aware.

  • That is so cool, thanks man.

  • Ultimate Race is one of the most epic soundtracks on Marble Madness.

Too bad it's the most under-appreaciated track too.

  • Well being 14 I can only ever play this on the Multicade at my dentists office. This has got to be one of my favorite games though.

  • Man....for how many times I've heard all these themes, I'm surprised I was never able to beat it....that last stretch of disappearing bridge in Ultimate strikes me down each and every time...

  • How many times I've listen to these musics on my own arcade cab....

Don't know why, but this game is kind of magic in a way....

  • Back in the days I played this game 80% for the musical experience, 20% for the actual gameplay. I remember I felt lika a musician, performing for the other kids who watched me play...

  • guys if you want to download the song let me know i have the link

  • @sargennipple I loved this game when my dad use to sell the old Amiga 500 I would beat this game everyday the music rocks do you still have the Link?

  • @twp1974 ya i still have it. i'll send to you in a private message

  • Wow, thanks for posting this! I fell in love with this game in the early 80's when I was about 13, then I moved to another part of the country and couldn't find it anywhere. I never forgot that awesome Beginner Race melody though, or that cool finish line 'Boopity-boopity-boo!' noise.

  • Your welcome. Great story! And remember, there were no sequencers back then so they had to write the music in text like C4Q,F#3H, etc.

  • @50GallonDrum you could've gotten it for XBOX in Midway arcade Treasures 01

  • Holy shit I feel like I just defeated the world listening to the hi score screen at 9:47

  • I love this game, it was so ahead of it's time! Of course I very rarely if ever got past Beginner race so that theme is THE Marble Madness music for me. Very Danny Elfman or similar, I love it. I also love Practice Race, ambient before ambient was popular! I would LOVE to see a sequel to this game in the current generation, imagine how fun it would be with the Wii controls! (No, Super Monkey Ball is NOT the same)

  • I have to admit, I really love this guy who randomly posted about being accused of being a child molester. Where there is smoke...

    LOL!!

  • you still have not gave an account, of your accusations against me. Calling me some sort of pedophile.

were you doing drugs or alcohol? How come you can not answer?

  • kinda sadly... i like the nes music better

  • i beat this game its friggen hard but i did....

  • The Aerial Race really got on my nerves, man. I could never get past it. I guess I need a bit more practice... thanks for the music, though!

  • Yeah, you're welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed.

The only version of the game I 'completed' was the Gameboy version. The reason why I say 'completed' is because the Gameboy version doesn't have the Ultimate Race and after you complete the second to last level, it goes back to the beginner race.

  • The Beginner race is my personal theme song. I hear it in my head when I drive home from work every night.

  • I still like Silly Race the best.

  • The highest I ever got to was level 4 (with it's beginning sabotage ramp). I remember the level 3 song stood out as my favorite, especially the end of it.

  • I like Level 4 the best. Because it's really terrorizing! =D

  • This is awesome music. Brings back memories of playing Midway Arcade Treasures. I have to play that again soon.

  • Yes awesome! I loved this game. Brings back good memories

  • I played this in the arcade, and the booming surround sound really helps with the experience. I couldn't go back to the NES version after using the trackball in the arcade.

  • ah, finally the good version and not that shit NES version that is everywhere.

  • Dave Wise wrote the NES version and he's one of the best known composers. I like that version's music, but when you compare it to this version, FM Synthesis will kick NES' ass a lot.

  • @Doommaster1994 I guess he did the best with what he had. But can't hold a candle to the original. Original version is hard to find on Youtube. Thanks.

  • I got this music from the Midway Arcade Treasures CD but you can use M1 to get the music as well.

  • @BeigeNinja The NES probably had the best music of the home versions, unless i'm missing a version. Compare the NES with the amiga or genesis versions.

  • David Wise ported the music from the arcade version to the NES and he's one of the best known composers. That's why the music on the NES version is so good. He's one of the VGM Gods.

  • Thanks for posting this! Also great to see the composer's names, credit well deserved.

  • this is quite possibly the best music ever.

  • I used to always have trouble in the Intermediate race. That's how I came to love the stage music... To me, 4:24-4:41 was the game's way of saying "Time for this game to kick your ass!". Brings me way back...

  • I always thought this game had a progressive rock feel to it! Almost early genesis

  • This version of Marble Madness's Music is my favorite, because it sounds closest to the arcade version of it.

  • That's because it is!

  • i like the second theme the best

  • The chips are similar, but the Genesis has a better sampling output; however, the arcade version has somewhat more complex instruments.

  • The 1st song is my favorite. But all the songs are amazing.

  • The arcade version of the Ultimate Race theme is one of the most underrated tunes in video game history.

I'm stunned nobody's remixed it yet.

After all, it's not often that you hear a XYLOPHONE solo (8:50-9:00).

  • Actually they are bells but whatever. I agree.

  • I agree. I think the problem is that not alot of people make it that far, and if they remember one theme from Marble Madness, it's level 2.

I have this machine in my basement and it's a hit at parties.

  • Oh you lucky... lol

I wish I had the arcade. The farthest I've gotten to is the Ultimate race but I've NEVER completed it. I completed the GameBoy version but the last race is the silly race, but after you complete it, the game just takes you back to the beginner race. Then the game loops from there.

  • thanks,

  • No problem.

  • That's awesome! Thanks for posting this.

You wouldn't happen to be able to do "Midnight Resistance (Arcade) Music" would you?

  • Unfortunately, no. Sorry it took so long to reply. I thought I already replied to you. Anyway, I get the music off of my Midway Arcade Treasures disc. So whatever games are on there are the music I have.

    Thanks for watching! :D
