Actually back then it didn't always change his name when he became president was Lancer everyone had a codename and every important presidential place had one like his mother's Rose was Coppertone and Air force one was Angel and when Ted Kennedy ran for the presidency ( he got a secret service name because after Bob was shot it was issued that the secret service provide protection to presidential candidates as well) his codename was Sunburn .

Dear Cathy

Lancer was the American Secret Service code name for President Kennedy during the travel to Dallas only.

I suppose that the code names changed every month or for every travel, but I'm not sure of it.

Anyway, at Dallas President Kennedy was Lancer, Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy, was Lace, Caroline Kennedy was Lyrics and John Kennedy jr was Lark.

It was a national tragedy in Italy too!

I was not alive when the Kennedy tragedy occured, but , it is a day that America will never forget. Hard to believe it has been 46 yrs. Jackie. she was such a beautifull and classy woman , and to have all of that placed on her , aswell as trying to be a mother. she handled herself with all the strength and class that only Jackie could have. Now they are together forever.

I admire JFK very much. He was one of the best presidents US ever had.
