That was a great intro to the second or fifth suite, but i feel way to depressing for the triumphant and up lifting sixth suite

When Yo-Yo Ma recorded the six suites by Bach he recorded 6 videos -one of each suite- in colaboration with diferent artists. this works are called "inspared by Bach". I think they are available in DVD and you also can find a lot of videos in youtube.

the sonatas for viola da gamba and harpsichord are also very lovely....there's a phenomenal recording of them with Martha Argerich and Mischa Maisky. And the sontas and partitas for solo violin are also great

I think it was Rostropovich who said the fifth cello suite is the sunset while the sixth is the sunrise. This video provides a much different context, but no less appropriate or beautiful.

What a stunning video to accompany the sixth sarabande! Seeing this reinforces in me what had been a strong conviction -- now a certainty -- that the sixth sarabande will be the focus of my next and most earnest cello endeavour.

I question how the attribution of tragedy in the first 1:22 was made. This evokes exaltation and triumph, if also tragedy.

I wish it could have been let speak for itself, with the stunning music and dancing starting at 1:22. Don't need to see Yo-yo either.
