you must not understand drag racing. A car with 5000+ horsepower, its kind of hard to maintain it at top end while going 250+ mph. The car leads itself and the driver has to control it. He didnt randomly turn....

Think it was about 4.8 - that was Top Fuel - a Rail sponsored by B&Q aqainst a Funny car. i was at the start line trying to film it with my mobile and as you said "that was so loud" i should of wore ear plugs - it felt like a firework going off in my chest and head - what a rush ! ! !

Drag racing is nearly as fast as it can get. because the top fuel dragsters are up to about 100 miles in 1 seconds, It pushes the blood out of their legs which enables them to push down on the excelerator. This is just what i've heard so i might be incorrect.
dude top fuel cars are amazing. they go 0-60 in a fraction of a second and do quarter miles faster than most cars on the market today, best ive heard was mid 4s
@JJchingy the world record on a quarter mile is 3,58 set by Sammy Miller in 1984 with his vanishing point rocket car with 25,000 horesepower. equiped with the same kind of engine as the apollo space shuttle. this beast only needs 0.18 s to get to 60mph. to avoid getting uncunsios Sammy had to lay flat in the car as i was put out with over 12 G,s!!! Every time after driving the car Sammy was Bleeding from booth nose and ears. finally There's REAL men and then it is SAMMY MILLER !!
It would be much less awesome if it was twice as long ;) I did some basic calculations and determind that if that car, from a stand-still were to race a single-engine aircraft (like a Piper Cherokee 140) that was already running at full speed, the car would still smoke it in 1/4 mile. Pretty awesome! The sound doesn't do it justice - it was SO loud!
yeah - there is just no way to relay that sound energy through electronic devices like a PC speaker - in the flesh you can actually feel the sound. Sometimes, the sound pressure is so intense it distorts the lens of my eyes and I cant see properly for the 1 second or so they are nearby - its fuckin MASSIVE! Apparently the exhaust pressure can shift a 1000 kg weight!
And Nascar is more popular? We'll in the same sense, American Idol has the highest tv rantings.
