  • I find all my mohogany and oak lumber on the beach. Here in northern Vancouver island. It's from crashed Spanish and English ships from hundreds of years ago. I use the would for jewelry boxs and boat interiors

  • @weiersenb not true. any mahogany sold in the US has to come from non-threatened species and sources. most of it comes from Indonesia and is not true mohag that was used in centuries past. making it into plywood with a thin veneer of the "money" wood and a core of less valuable hardwoods further extends this conservation effort and increases the strength and stability of the end product. its a win all around.

  • @RandalPMcMurphey naw what i meant was i cant get all of it off by sanding or stripper, its really old furniture 50 plus years i'd say as a guess, was wondering if theirs something out their to cover wuts left up but still come out looking like a stain??

  • Does anybody know if theirs something else i can put ontop of wood? i try'd sanding and sanding but i cant seem to get the old stain out of the wood and i was wondering if theirs a different type of material i can put on top of it to make it look presentable???

  • Does anyone know what wood filler was used? This isn't the same wood filler that fixes scratches (etc..)..is it?

  • This is what I got.. 1.Sand 2.Wood filler 3.laquer thinner 4.Stain 5.Sealant 6.Sand 7.Glaze 8.Clear coat Laquer 9.Shading (optional) 10.2nd coat of Laquer 11.last coat of laquer 12.rub finish out (wet sand w/500 grit) w/grain 13.hand run with steel wool 14.compound 15.wax
