I find all my mohogany and oak lumber on the beach. Here in northern Vancouver island. It's from crashed Spanish and English ships from hundreds of years ago. I use the would for jewelry boxs and boat interiors
@weiersenb not true. any mahogany sold in the US has to come from non-threatened species and sources. most of it comes from Indonesia and is not true mohag that was used in centuries past. making it into plywood with a thin veneer of the "money" wood and a core of less valuable hardwoods further extends this conservation effort and increases the strength and stability of the end product. its a win all around.
@RandalPMcMurphey naw what i meant was i cant get all of it off by sanding or stripper, its really old furniture 50 plus years i'd say as a guess, was wondering if theirs something out their to cover wuts left up but still come out looking like a stain??
Does anybody know if theirs something else i can put ontop of wood? i try'd sanding and sanding but i cant seem to get the old stain out of the wood and i was wondering if theirs a different type of material i can put on top of it to make it look presentable???
This is what I got.. 1.Sand 2.Wood filler 3.laquer thinner 4.Stain 5.Sealant 6.Sand 7.Glaze 8.Clear coat Laquer 9.Shading (optional) 10.2nd coat of Laquer 11.last coat of laquer 12.rub finish out (wet sand w/500 grit) w/grain 13.hand run with steel wool 14.compound 15.wax
@hobyyman1 Hi Could someone please tell me if & how it's possible to find the full list of videos as hobbyman1 has listed them in sequence...as opposed to what i'm doing now which is clicking on different vids on the right and seeing if they are the right ones + they come out of order. Thank you.
