OK for the love of... Ignoring the benignly stupid: The 'Game' IS Portal (1) and all I did was copied the map --- in this case "Amsterville" which is an rpg map intended for use in some of the mods in "GarrysMod" to the \maps directory in the Portal directory of the same name, then used the console to load the map.... it's dead simple ppl!

So THE MAP IS Amsterville and THE GAME IS Portal v1!

but the reason why nothing happens on video, its cause HL was not the designed to interact with portals, specially its water one of the most heavy stuff to put in a game \o/

actually, the water doesn't necessarily need to "leak"... if you think that it has no kinetic energy accumulated, when it get to the other portal, gravity will stop the water from be blasted. I think it would look like a filled glass or a really filled pool... Just a theory though...

@victorjuliani yea, but the weight of the water on top of it would be pushing it through the portal, but of course gravity will have some effect, the water will come out throught the portal and just for a small puddle around it, and it will keep spreading out until there is no water left, anyways nice theory tho ;)

@Nivek150 No, the water staying still is actually consistent with the physics of the game if you think about it. As soon as you cross the portal, up becomes down, and gravity is reversed, so the water can't go out that way.

Why - for fuck's sake - are many people claiming the game being used in a vid is Gmod when the things in the vid look like useradded content? Those guys really know little about the console and the ability to load custom maps with it... WITHOUT Garry's freaking mod! Geez, that starts to be annoying. :(

1.st The original Portal Skin in HL2 is ILLEGAL!

2.nd The Portals in GMOD are buggy (no skyboxes, no 3D)

3.rd Didnt u saw the Menu at the beginning? The title was "Portal" and he use the CONSOLE for the portalgun and the map.

2. Depends on what addon you download, there are some that are almost perfect.

3.You can port the HL2 maps to portal by placing the required ,bsp file in the maps folder of Portal.

I believe if you go to the challenge map in Portal that has the very, very large room in which you portal your way up on platforms, you can do this. After you get to the next platform, the one you were on goes underwater. Makes it a pain to time the portals right, but when the platform goes all the way down, it allows portals again. Which means you can jump to the bottom of the acid stuff and back out as much as you like.

If i am right then the blue portal on wood would become a fountain. Would be really nice :D Unluckily calculating fluids is the laggiest thing in world, unless you use a (not yet invented) mechanism to convert water in "blocks" (example: after water fills a pool, the whole pool become only one water particle, and when someone jumps on it the game calculates only the water that moves).

I'd love to see some liquid effects in Portal 2 but I doubt it will happen. They'd have to make dynamic liquid that could travel believably though Portals and that would be virtually impossible to do. I doubt we're even at that stage graphically speaking yet.

Though I have heard there's some sort of Paint mechanic in Portal 2 so you never know.

no when you have once hold the gravity gun in a map your portal gun will have this bug. The orange lines from 0:35 to 0:42 is also caused by that bug.

He used impulse 101 which instantly gives you the suit, idiot. He used a custom level (perhaps an RP level or something) in portal to get the portal gun. Not gmod.

Just want to say something to the people who think this is Gmod.

You can transfer all maps from all halflife2 games into portal, and then load them by using the console. You need to have a un-steam'ed version of the game. Meaning you only get the dvd/cd and unpack the game without installing it. Seriously your all morons. Gmod isn't the only thing in this world.
