There are all kinds of ways to cook and no one culture has a monopoly. Even arroz con gandules se puede cocinar de miles de maneras. Pero, I'm from New Orleans, baby, and our food rocks! I guarantee, it don't taste like paper, para que sepan!

PS. At the end of the day they all wanted my reciepe, but i didnt give it, cause that only stays with True Boriquas. ;) That was 5 years ago. I ditched the Gringa (getting tired of eating tater tots and hot dogs) and I've been with a very beautiful Puerto rican Mami chula for 2 years now who im getting engaged to cause not only does she get me and make me happy, but My Puerto rican princess KNOWS Whats Up in dat Kitchen!!! lol

Well came Thanksgiving, they made their food, and i made mine. Well guess who's food was tried after being laughed at, and then eaten completly away with nothing left to make a left over...Thats right! Mine! They didnt even touch what their family had cooked. Tons of turkery and potatoe salad left over. lol Gringos like to mock our things, but when they try them, they become addicted. ;) I made them eat their words that day basically.

I Use to date a white girl a few years ago, and her family didnt really cook. They "Microwaved" their meals. Sometimes they did cook and the food smelled great, but when i ate it, it was like eating paper, bc it had no Flavor. So i told them that for thanksgiving i was going 2 make Arroz con Gandules and Pernil, with tostones, and they can make their turkey and potatoe salad.
