Look at Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden, in early concert videos he had the scream you hear in the albums like in Run to the Hills or Numbe of the Beast, but age has that effect on vocals. Especially if you do it year after year touring and practicing. It'll take it's toll eventually. Sad but true(not meant as a Metallica pun)
