@ilife11 lol ur retarded mac was the first personal computer but not many ppl know this cause at the time they were to over priced and no 1 brought 1, then windows came along stole all there ideas nd created windows which was a failed attempt of producing a mac but nun the less it was affordable and that is y it lifted off!
@legend563 You clearly don't know the history either. Gates actually worked with Apple back in the day developing apps for Apple. Apple hired him because he was the only person capable of creating good apps everyone at Apple couldn't do it, and that is what Steve Jobs even said. Apple started to loose out to other companies like IBM and Apple wasn't willing to upgrade there software so Gates sold his new program which was Windows 95 to IBM, which ultimately caused Apples downfall in the 90s.
@b4igetu You seem to be forgeting MS is a software program. Gates made this personal computer interface long before Apple ever did. Apple would have tanked from the beginning without Gates. Apple beat IBM using completely different os, IBM had nothing to do with MS at the time. So Apple beat a os completely irrelevant to this discussion.
@iliketodothat True That!! Dude i have had PC's all my life and i never got a Virus on my Laptop. Okay fine, Maybe once But thats Once! And i did a full system restore and for some reson i got all my files back and removed the Virus!
hey you NEED to sync home before you switch accounts!!! my school uses mac os x snow leopard and people all around me lost data too! but guess what they forgot? to sync home!! this has never happened to me ever i always synced home!
Not surprising. Snow Leopard had absolutely no new features, unless you were a developer, and it's been performing terribly at things like 3D image rendering and high end gaming when compared against a bootcamped Windows 7 running under the exact same Macintosh platform. Snow Leopard is Apple's Vista.
this happened to me last night. only my documents and desktop files disappeared, and i have a backup from a month ago. at least i didn't lose everything, but still, what the hell apple?
hahahaha mac got a bug not really surprised since they over ranted about snow leopard hehe this video should be sent to MS so they can laugh also. MAC SUCKS
Oh Dear! Ive Just Ordered My copy of snow leopard!Maybee I should stick with leopard for another couple of months before upgrading. Thanks for posting this very useful information.
Funny, considering that not everybody has timemachine and also funny, considering the latest news about timemachine, Google: Dying Apple Time Capsules spark complaints
I really dont know what your getting at because any external drive will do, not just time machine. I just personally choose time machine because i still believe the best products that go with apple are other Apple products.
Ok, I repeat it for a dumbass like you in plain English; Snow Leopard has a bug that destroys A-L-L user data. I don't care if someone has a hundred time machines and 50 backups in a safe at fort knox, I repeat again; Snow Leopard has a bug that destroys all user data, in other words; a major bug!
Learn to read...seriously. All I did was post this:
Google: Snow Leopard deletes all user data
Where do you see me making any claims? All what I say afterwards is just repeating what has been said on many sites. Why don't you just get off your lazy ass and actually READ those articles. Oh yeah, I forgot... reading is not your strongest point...sigh
I quote just one site, since you're so damn lazy to read it yourself...sigh:
"their account has been fully reset with all data wiped and lost - the account is like a brand new one. The home directory still exists under "/Users/username" but is completely empty.
"Users are reporting that the data is unrecoverable and cannot be found anywhere on the hard drive, and the only way to restore it is if the user has been performing backups on a separate hard-drive."
Btw, Apple has acknowledged the problem, so there you go, you can talk until you weigh an ounce little Mac fanboy, Apple has a major bug in the latest OS, they totrally screwed up.
apple still has a better track record than pc. who doesnt know to back your stuff up at this point ? thats just basic. where is it shown in a real article apple acknowledging this. do u have a link?
You could say that if you at least tried other OS's, and i bet you did not. Please get lost. Windows 7 is indeed good, but you can't say that about XP or Vista (wtf?!?).
Well, shit, Dave. I just bought a new macbook pro yesterday, are you saying I better hurry up and instal windows?
Seriously though, windows was always a more stable OS, if macs had to integrate with 10% of what windows has to, macs would be shown to be very unreliable systems.
But I did buy a new macbook pro, mostly for itunes
I like you Dave mate am so very paranoid when it comes to backing up date such as family photos, videos and financial documents. The item you are talking about in Snow Leopard, I am not sure is just down to Snow Leopard. My wife Vicky had a guest account on her MacBook running Tiger, I changed a few personal details on the Admin account and I lost all the data on the guest account. I was lucky enough to have it all backed up on several different media back up systems. you are right, Not Good.
"I changed a few personal details on the Admin account and I lost all the data on the guest account." I READ very well thank you, thebsdguy; sadly YOU don't. The remarkt I was replying to expressly states he lost data on the GUEST account. Sheesh.
Huh? That is NOT what iharrison30 said. Go back and READ the thing: "I changed a few personal details on the Admin account and I lost all the data on the guest account." You are SUPPOSED to loose data on the GUEST account. Trying to say iharrison30's problem is related to this bug doesn't work.
Oh my God !! Please.. i would like to see AppleSoldier's face now and how he would explain this bug as a potential "plus" for OS X and "minus" for Windows :-)

I am worried because I have a lot of important school work on my macbook. & I have recently upgraded to snow leopard. I want to downgrade it but I don't have any external drives that I can use to backup my stuff before I downgrade. =\ Which is really depressing. Also the printer problems. I always have to move my file to my pc desktop to print out my work. Apple really needs to up their game on their computers.
