Its all the same thing, Its all made out of wood clippings compressed. And considering we had 3 ply "PLY WOOD" I would think that would be the appropriate name for the wood. If it is a 16x16 ring, you should connect the 2x4's with hinges so it flexes more in the center so the tires help take more impact, it worked for us. Also, if you put the tires vertical instead of horizontal in sets of 2 or 3 (drill holes in the tires and just use a nut, bolt, and washers at two points so they dont wiggle apart) we found it helps a lot with the give. if you want a ring that DOESNT use tires, you need 2x6's for the frame and/or the deck support. i built one, and it supported A LOT of weight.
for the deck support; take 2 of the framing boards, and nail/screw 2x4's on top of them, and then when you tip those 2x6's on their sides, the 2x4's will be like support rails for the deck boards, and then the plywood on top of that, and VOILA, nice, bouncy ring.

The padding is really stiff and is 2 times more hard then the ring in this video.There is no soft barrier. Its all about how you land. So that you dont hurt yourself. Oh trust me a normal pro ring hurts like that wood ring, all that is under the ring cover is metal poles and wood, a couple layers of cover but the padding doesnt really make it hurt to much less, I took a couple bumps in the ring at a NWA show and the current champion said he liked my look and would train and get me signed but im waiting 2 years so i can muscle up, trying to get 170 of pure muscle. But I love the pain of the bumps cuz im very passionat about my dream of being a wrestler.

actually. Bunji cords wouldnt work. When i wrestled in a real federation they used actual steel cable with hose around it and tape. So yeah. Yeah i should have used metal posts but i didnt. I dont wrestle anymore though
The bottom of it is very well done, Impressed by that, but would the turnbuckles not become loose over time? It doesn't seem like they have anything to keep them in. I know they screw in but over time, if enough tension is created, it will come out. Just an observation. I'm still rating this video well though. :)

I made this ring for a friend, but I made a few alterations.
1. I sawed some of the tires in half.
2. I placed the wood posts on Christmas tree stands.
3. I tied sections of rope around the posts under the ring.
4. I used the turnbuckles to hold some chainlink to connect the ropes.
5. I taped the ropes to color with electrical tape.
6. I taped foam sheets over the end of the chainlink.

The Tires if we don't buy them what if there flatting can we still use them.

@AlexTheNightMareHawk . Yeah when i was actually in training i was at a 16 by 16 ring at practice and a 18 by 18 at the shows. The one at the shows was to stiff i liked the 16 foot one better

@FutureWHC Let me put it like this. It feels better than a real ring. If you build it like i did.But if you just wana have fun and screw around put like 3 layers of carpet. But that would eliminate any bounce the ring had. Dont listen to anyone who says that real rings dont hurt. Because they do.

@cody1800212. Yeah. Well its like this. The padding on a real wrestling ring isnt really padding. Its so hard it hurts to hit your hand on it. The padding i use is real soft and doesnt hurt. A real wresting ring hurts.

you know to give it less stiffness and more of a real ring feel if you didnt put the 2x4 across on that top frame just an outer frame the plywood on top of tires and then screw it down on the outer frame

@ps3tna . if we did that the boards would break. Dont say they wouldnt because they did with the 2 by 4's up there. And it doesnt matter about the stiffness. Because either way the real wrestling rings i have been on hurt more than this. Its more about the padding than the spring it has.

Oh trust me a normal pro ring hurts like that wood ring, all that is under the ring cover is metal poles and wood, a couple layers of cover but the padding doesnt really make it hurt to much less, I took a couple bumps in the ring at a NWA show and the current champion said he liked my look and would train and get me signed but im waiting 2 years so i can muscle up, trying to get 170 of pure muscle. But I love the pain of the bumps cuz im very passionat about my dream of being a wrestler.

i was in a real federation just watch the video. And if u think it absorbs the shock as much as u think, your wrong. It hurts like hell. No it wont send u to the docter from hard moves. But it hurts like hell. You dont know what ur talking about. I do. Hey if u want to waste your money go ahead. But some people i know wont be able to take it. Thats according to my ring. And believe me. The ring i built in this is softer than a real one. I know what im talking about

actually. Bunji cords wouldnt work. When i wrestled in a real federation they used actual steel cable with hose around it and tape. So yeah. Yeah i should have used metal posts but i didnt. I dont wrestle anymore though

The bottom of it is very well done, Impressed by that, but would the turnbuckles not become loose over time? It doesn't seem like they have anything to keep them in. I know they screw in but over time, if enough tension is created, it will come out. Just an observation. I'm still rating this video well though. :)

wouldent u need 12 2x4s because u use 8 for the the frame and four for the turn buckels so 8 +4 12
