Scenes like this are why I wish Survivor episodes were longer... at least for good seasons like Samoa. I had wondered if Russell was doing stuff like this to attract votes against himself. Hr was playing at a higher level constantly.
I think Natalie did great in rating out Eric. Also i think Galu defiantly made a mistake in voting out Eirc instead of Jaison. However it is more Eric fault then Natalie that he got voted out.
the producer have couple of times pull rabbit out of the hat when they think it is time for a twist that are not planned before the game begins. Perfect sample was Cook Island when loosing tribe needed to vote 2 castaways instead on one. This gave the popular Aitu tribe Ozzy, Yul, Sundra & Becky better change to survive the merge. This twist has never been repeated since then
They introduced the immunity idol at season 11 guatemala. A weak version you had to play before the votes were cast.
In season 12 N 13 ( exile and cook island) They had a very powerfull hidden immunity idol. That you could keep on till after the votes had been shown.
They introduced this kind of hidden immunity idol at season 14 fiji islands. That you have to play before the votes are cast ( Wich means you can get somebody voted out with only your'e vote)

But Laura had majority alliance with Brett, Dave, Monica and Kelly. Laura was one episode from securing herself final 3 spot. Producer knew that so they sabotaged Laura game play by letting Russell find the idol easy.
All the idol clue and place for hidden immunity idols are worked out before the game begins. If Natalie didn't play Laura then how come they were all going to vote out Jaison before Natalie talked to Laura. I admit she knew Eric was a threat but she hadn't planed on voting him out so soon. Natalie was so in with the girls that they wanted to pull her into the girl alliance.
Another sample was in Palau when they delayed the merge by one episode. Usually tribes had always merged at ten. So by default Bobby Jon & Steph should have make it to the merge. However the producer felt it was good tv having one castawy standing. Also this twist has never been repeacted again either.

If producer hadn't made it easy for Russell to find the second idol without a clue. Russell would have been gone 7 votes against 4 for Kelly.
This scene clearly demonstrate that Laura was better player then Russell. In true Survivor without damn idols Laura outplayed, outwitted Russell.
To bad for Laura that producer wanted to turn Survivor Samoa into Russell show.
