You know this makes me madd as ever. Today's musicians are to self centered. They think that traditional gospel is simple and just a bunch of basic turns, scales, and grooves. WELL IT IS NOT!!! It is about a shared feeling of koinania, when soloist, musicians, background singers, and the congregation are one. . He wants to take his time, and I think the musicians should discern that. Well, seasoned musicians wouldnt dare leave a singer out there like that!

Joe Ligon still got it. You can tell that the musicians aren't used to old school. They're trying to play what's on the score sheet and Joe is singing what's in his heart. These musicians have to learn to follow the lead. Joe is not type be rushed. This is his anthem. He's been doing this song for over thirty years. He's earned the right to sing it the way HE wants. Somebody said that they hope the young brothers are taking note. I say Amen to that.-- ALBERTINA, SURE GONNA MISS YOU.

Those were some good musicians but they didn't realize that the tempo he is used to is much slower than they were playing but Joe still sang the heck outta of the song....
