This is a great video made with your Canon. I am exploring my options as I really want a DSLR that can shoot HD video as well as still images. This was great quality. Thanks so much. What lens did you use and what program did you use to do your editing? Thanks again.
This is ages old now, but I believe the lenses used were Canon 50mm f/1.2L, 200mm f/2.8L, 35mm f/1.4L, and there a shot in there with the Sigma 14mm f/2.8. I edited this in Adobe Premier Pro
Wow. After I watched this video, I instantly saw what kind of creative possibilities are opened by dSLR video. I never used this function on my 5D Mark II, but now I will make a point of creating a few clips... this video really inspired me.
I think that adding of video function is the best thing that happened to dSLR world since its beginning.
What beautiful footage. I am so surprised how nice even the night stuff looked. Can you tell me how long can you continuously shoot with that camera? Does it limit or is that dependent on the size of your memory card. What does it cost and is it hard to get that critical focus in manual mode when filming moving subjects?
Love it! It's nice how you can get away with filming people with a DSLR... If I did the same thing with my DVX100B, someone would probably notice and get all mad...
This quality is really unbelievable. I just bought a new hd-camcorder but the quality is not far so good as one can seen here. Also the night shots are so brilliant. Congratulations to this camera, wow!
Hardly likely to be. As well as the 5D being a superb camera, you have the facility to use extremely expensive lenses on it that you probably don't have on your camcorder. With a decent L series lens added to this camera, you're talking about a £3,000+ video camera!
Superb video and very well filmed PHFX, excellent :)
Amazing. Had to watch it in hd right after I finished the low res version. Being a movietube jr user on a hvx200, I really see the advantages of this camera.
way to make me hate my photography, and nikon =P

How do you do that thing with the part with the playground rings?
JerseyShore117 1 year ago
@JerseyShore117 It's called "rack focus". Check out "follow focus" in Google and you'll learn a ton about how to do that.

How do you put videos together like this? Like a slideshow?
JerseyShore117 1 year ago
@JerseyShore117 This was edited in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5. There are many non linear editing programs out there though. I prefer Premiere Pro.

@phfx Yeah thanks. I already figured it out

does this camera let you manually control the exposure and gain when shooting video? like does it have exposure lock?
only4sweitch 2 years ago
At the time I recorded this video it was not a manually controllable camera, but it did have exposure lock, which is how I shot this.
However, the manual firmware has been released and you can control shutter, iso, and aperture manually.
