Not a bad idea really. Probably would take a lot of punishment as well. Cheaper than buying a 1/5 scale RC model which could cost 600-1200 bucks.

Interesting, I also have one being built atm.. What kind of servo is on the steering? Did you custom make the elec start with a batter+motor? Or did yours come standard with elec start? Looks like you need to drop COG to stop it rolling all the time.

If you want more stability maybe you can increase the distance on the front wheel, its probably complicated to do it but I bet you will able to drive really fast without the need to stop because the car start to turn alone :)
