This is so overdue. How can we Americans help? How can all of us help? However.....this will be a futile effort if we do not teach 2 things: empowerment of women and BIRTH CONTROL! People, women especially, need to start understanding that everyone should not have children! Getting a job and some sort of education or skill to help your "other" family members must come first, otherwise the cycle continues. I would love to be contacted by anyone wanting to start something like this!

Empowerment of women and birth control is a good thing but have you ever thought of the high probability that women get raped regularly in these poverty stricken groups? Also, keep in mind that in agricultural societies more children means more people to work the land. Things aren't as black and white as they seem sadly enough.
