WOW - what a gift !!! Thanks Reba !!! I had the chance to meet Reba several times in the early 90's as part of my then promotion job that I had with a radio/tv station. I even met her publicist and all that stuff. My point, she is the most gracious, kind, sincere person and I give her my ultimate respect for everything she says and does. Her new CD is one of the best in nearly a decade.

I used to think the song was about a guy she was in love with that lied. But, when you really listen to the lyrics, it's about a guy that's not in love with the girl, so, he lies because he feels sorry for her.

The girl hears wedding bells, the guy pretends to as not to crush her. So, he lies...

Brilliant. I've seen Trisha and Faith do this song and it's not until you see two great singers struggle with the range that you realize how truly unique Reba's voice is. Thankyou so much for sharing your Atlanta videos, I almost feel like I've seen a full Reba concert.

IMHO t's not just about hitting the notes, but putting forth the emotion and telling a story. Not all great singers are storytellers. I think Trisha did a great job w/ this song, but Reba's one of the best at really telling a story thru a song. With Reba I listen to hear what happens next, what I'll feel next rather than what notes she'll hit. Speaking of which, this concert is 17 yrs after she 1st recorded You Lie. She hits that high note only 2 fewer times than the original version.

Agree 100%, it's the emotion that drew me to Rebas vocals, I love that she will sacrifice a note if it's needed to convey an emotion. I'm slightly addicted to her voice I think. I was merely noting that she still has a great vocal range.
